LEP stands for Laser Excited Phosphor. It emits a white light that is collimated similar to a laser beam, but with more spread. Super bright and intense blinding light. Limited peripheral lighting, but indoors there's enough reflected light to see well for the shooter - the bad guy won't be seeing anything with the blinding light in the face.

From the shooter's perspective, the bullet hits in the center of the beam, no other aiming needed at typical home-defense distance.
