I have an affinity for vintage type AR's that I have neglected the 1980's.

I got a neutered Armalite upper from the ban era of the 90's with a super heavy match barrel in it with no bayonet lug or flash hider and swapped it for a new Fulton Armory government profile with the FSB installed. It has the proper early universal front handguard and early A2 triangle handguard cap.

Had a Spikes lower laying around to stuff with leftover parts.

The upper is starting to turn purple so it doesn't match the lower. I'd love to find an old Armalite or Colt lower. I might just buy a new H&R M16A2 lower for it if it shoots well.

I am craving a repro A2 for my wall. LOL Ridiculous to think of spending $1K< on something that'll most likely get zeroed then hang on a wall, but here I am. Big Grin

I cannot for the life of me find any place with the USGI Okay 30rd mags in stock though.

My surplus store up the street from me has them. $20 each, I put the Magpul followers in them.

Noice! Here’s my A2- Palmetto lower with every single other part from an FN M16A2 (FN mag to boot)… except the tri-burst cam, auto sear, selector, and auto disconnect of course. Complete with full on battle rattle. Big Grin

Nice. I have a Windham A2 HBAR without a FH and I want to either get it threaded for a FH or swap the barrel (or maybe upper) to get an A2 setup. I have a pre-A1 style (Colt SP1) and several M4-type mongrels but I always liked the original A1/A2 rifles.

Nice! Oh the memories! The A2 was my service rifle in the 90's.

Nice rifle.

I'd forgotten just how nice shooting a 20 inch AR was until I built an A4 clone.

The A2 feels great. I did get rid of mine, because this gives much the same vibes, though it's not an HBAR, which is how I like my A2.

My brother has a Mass legal PSM pre-ban receiver that he's going to pull and put an H&R in its place.

The fetishists "updated" the law here, so unless it was in the state, no value here.

Is there anything functionally or dimensionally wrong with the receiver? Pulling it just for what's written on the side seems drastic.

H&R make beautiful receivers that match the Colt gray and all the proper rollmarks.
