Hello guys. I was in the market for a long range bolt gun in 308 and was able to pick up this guy yesterday. The gun is a Savage BVSS Target/Varmint and came with a Leupold VX3 LR with a Varmint reticle. I took that scope off since that reticle does not match up to 308 and added the Leupold MKIV 3-10 M3 LRT. I’m going to mount the other Leupold on my Savage 22-250.

The gun is a shooter. The first 5 shots using 168gr SMK in Lapua brass with 44gr Varget was about .5”. I just decided to make it a 10 shot group and shot just a tad over 1”.

The gun is heavy and begging to be shot out to 850. I’ll post results when it happens,

Looks like she's a shooter, and good looking too!

Nice pickup. Curious to see how it does at longer distances.

Ho, hum: Another good-shooting Savage. Wink
Shot by a good shooter. Smile

Keep us posted on how it performs at distance.

I’m not that great of a shooter. I would say an above average shooter for sure. I am however meticulous in my reloading and strive for good accuracy. That is the 24 years of military coming out…lol.

Very nice. My first rifle was a mid 70’s Model 70 in 308. It took many years, over 15, to try anything else for deer hunting in MI.

Great shooting.
