CooksterSemiauto HD shotguns...school me
10K rounds!
And here I am thinking that my recent order of 175 rounds was actually a respectable start.
What a maroon! LOL!
I’d better get with the program, STAT!
How are you fixed for ammunition? Apparently not too well in 12 gauge 00 buckshot flavor!

My 1301 tactical didn't have chokes. I wish it did though because I thought a suppressor would be cool and they all seem to mount via choke tubes.

AllenInARThe A300 I am picking up (today hopefully) is an LE model (J32CT11LE) and it doesn't take chokes.

I picked mine (same model) up yesterday. Haven't fired it yet, but that'll happen as soon as I get a chance to take it out. I agree with Para, a HD shotgun doesn't need chokes.
The texturing on the forend and grip is a little aggressive, I'll have to shoot it a bit to decide whether it's something that needs to be addressed.
I was a little annoyed that it didn't come with an owner's manual. I went to Beretta's web site and downloaded a PDF version later.
There's no real provision in the butt for a sling mount. What looks like a plug in the hole where a rear hunting type sling stud would go, doesn't want to come out.
That said, overall I like the gun. It seems a bit lighter than my 18" 870 and a lot lighter than my 22" 1100, but I'd have to weight them all to be sure. It shoulders and points well. The LOP is (for me) fine without adding the extensions. The trigger is really good, it measures 5lb 4oz. Loading and feeding are easy and smooth with snap caps (haven't put any real stuff in it yet).

AllenInARWas yours swimming oil too? LOL Just got home with it. Gonna eat lunch before tinkering. I was also miffed about the lack of a manual. Dang kids these days with their PDFs!!!

Get like a small flat tip screwdriver, work it between the rubber plug and the lip of the cup. It's a QD socket. Just put the Magpul QD swivel in easy peasy.

My 1301 had a rubber plug in the same spot. It was a bear to pull it out, but once I did, I found it’s a legit QD socket.

Expert308Thanks, nice to know about the rear QD socket. The PDF doesn't say anything about it. And yeah, mine was well oiled too. I'm gonna take it apart and make sure it's oiled as well internally too, before I shoot it.

AllenInARI pulled the forend off, just to see...this is nothing like the 870 I had.

I have been shooting 3 Gun since 2009. Some of those years I shot 3 or 4 majors and half a dozen club matches as well.
That slowed quite a bit when we started having kids and 3 gun has been in a bit of a decline.
But during my peak activity it was nothing to shoot 2000 rounds in a season between matches and practice.
The Benelli M2 was the absolute pinnacle for a tube fed gun at that time. I see a lot of Beretta shotguns now as well.

YellowJacketSaw a good deal on the A300 Ultimate Patrol Comp gun, thought someone might be interested.
