Purchased in 2003, and I did make sure nobody wanted it before I "ruined" it. Smart to include the stamp in the photo. I did the same with the same MODEL KAC, but went with a welded 14.5" BM Barrel to avoid the stamp on this one. Salute! BTW... Also enjoyed the current mood video. ---------------------------- Evolve. Revolve. Dissolve.

It's a 12" factory Colt "patrol" replacement barrel. Chrome lined, M4 ramps. Arc. ______________________________ "Like a bitter weed, I'm a bad seed"- Johnny Cash "I'm a loner, Dottie. A rebel." - Pee Wee Herman Rode hard, put away wet. RIP JHM "You're a junkyard dog." - Lupe Flores. RIP

It's got the Geissele buffer and spring, otherwise milspec tube and stock, and that Colt assembly. Oh, and I did buy the flashlight and sling recently. Otherwise everything else is original. The bayo lug is silly, but whatevs. Arc. ______________________________ "Like a bitter weed, I'm a bad seed"- Johnny Cash "I'm a loner, Dottie. A rebel." - Pee Wee Herman Rode hard, put away wet. Always nice to hear of Colt parts on anything nowadays. Although I personally prefer my KACs over all others, Colt is where the majority of my AR collection falls. Spare bolts/carriers, etc. are all Colt. I fear that my old-fashioned Colts are losing desirability in today's market, considering I am nearing the liquidation point. Funny you mention the uselessness of the bayo lug on an SBR. Most barrels are either too long or too short to be purposeful. Seems like that's what she said somewhere along the way. ---------------------------- Evolve. Revolve. Dissolve.

Colt parts are if nothing else, a reliable standard. If anyone would like to try to take a piss towards this rifle and its now "Frankenstein" status in essence... To those folks I say: I also put ice in single malt scotch. It's not your scotch, it's not your rifle. When you find one of these, you do you. I can say that as far as my brief foray offering the unadulterated rifle for sale... the Knights marketplace is a shambling wasteland. I... I wonder how a recent contract with England will affect civilian offerings? I can only guess... I feel what you are saying about turning it into a Frankenstein, and would enjoy seeing some debate from others who disagree. I had reservations myself years ago, but wanted what I wanted out of it once the sunset occurred. Frankenstein SR15 with Bushmaster chrome lined barrel and M4 ramps is the first long gun I would grab if in need. For a semi, I have more rounds through it than others in my pile. Never the first malfunction of any kind out of this one. Makes me want to go try out a couple of my other NIB KACs with more tricked out factory components. I certainly understand the hobbled marketability of a neutered piece of that era nowadays, and have no issue with such a modification. That was a sucky 10 years. Dang it, Arc. I have not posted in years, but this rifle thread broke me. ---------------------------- Evolve. Revolve. Dissolve.

Ah well, welcome back. Knight's is somewhere between a niche market, cult, and fetish. I've had that rifle so long I can legit say I got one before they were cool, in fact at the time they were "too expensive,"(what are they now?) and not pre-ban, so people weren't keen, yet. The shop I worked nights and weekends at had Mark 11 Mod 0 packages, I couldn't afford that, but wanted something.. so the SR-15 it was. Then the ban expired, and the AR market made a natural correction. I think people quibbling over which is best are really splitting hairs, and I wonder how many actually own the rifles they prop up or disparage. I think the level of quality and choice out there is fantastic, and that anybody can pretty much get an excellent rifle and do it how they want is great. Listening to anti-gun water-heads like Hogg and others say "the gun lobby" both influenced congress, changed the second amendment, and foisted the AR on the public... It's so dumb. These rifles have been sold since the 60's, were in common use when the ban expired, and between that and 9/11 and decades of war.. millions more rifles in civilian hands means we blew right by "common use" nearly to "Welcome to America, here is your rifle." I'd also like to thank Salesman of the Year like Barrack Obama and Junior G "Beto" "We'll take your AR" O'rourke. When the ATF actually did something good, and ditched the "ask your chief" SBR condition, I had long meant to get around to building some stuff. Finally did, too. That rifle shoots great, and light, short AR's are really what the platform is meant to be in my opinion. If you look at Knights rifles floating around for sale out there, amongst the grossly overpriced actual complete rifles, almost everything else isn't really Knights, because maybe they found a lower, etc. You can find SR-15s just like mine that have been rebarreled, and it's downhill from there. I did give folks all opportunity to buy the whole thing, nobody wanted it. People can get perfectly capable AR's all day long for less, and the Knights heads don't want the upper, because the modern Knights guts are different, and they must have the top of the line. So I can't say I'm concerned about the resale value, considering the English contract, I can always sell the bottom half for loads of dough. Oh, and regarding the engraving, it's on the inside lip of the magwell and easily removed should that day come. Anyway, this my rifle. There are many like it, actually not that many... I for one think it looks great, both as original and modified. With AR’s it’s not like it is hard to put it back to all factory configuration down the rad if so desired.

Very well done. All ban era neutered rifles deserve to be unneutered. Colt and KAC parts go together (in the words of Forrest Gump) like peas and carrots. --------------------------------------------- "AND YEA THOUGH THE HINDUS SPEAK OF KARMA, I IMPLORE YOU...GIVE HER A BREAK, LORD". - Clark W. Is it an 11.5 6933/933 barrel or one of the truly 12” barrels that were made for the Italian market? Apex had some of those 12” Colt barrels a few years ago. --------------------------------------------- "AND YEA THOUGH THE HINDUS SPEAK OF KARMA, I IMPLORE YOU...GIVE HER A BREAK, LORD". - Clark W. I had one of those too. It made up the remainder of a trade for a vehicle I needed. It was a super nice rifle. Great trigger. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Slippery Pete,

It's all a blur, and all the Colt packaging is gone. It said 12" on it, but I bet it's just 11.5, I either got it from Brownells or PSA. It was the right price, and said "chrome lined, M4 feed ramps."
Yup, that looks familiar. People want the lowers bad. The barrels are Krieger match, unlined but nothing wrong with them. But the faux flashhider is a bit weird. I wasn't going to SBR it just for a stock, no regerts. Arc. ______________________________ "Like a bitter weed, I'm a bad seed"- Johnny Cash "I'm a loner, Dottie. The stamp just came the other day, and I've got plenty to do, so I won't get to shoot it for a bit. I don't expect any drastic change one way or another, it's the same trigger as always, and it's gonna shoot fine for the range and optic. How the rifle handles and feels will make it seem like it shoots amazing, but it'll probably be boringly reliably accurate. If experience tells me anything.
