Has Ruger said anything about its plans for Marlin? The website currently shows that they are only making 1895 rifles in one configuration - no others.

The 1895 they are making looks like it would be a popular, modernized model with a ghost ring/fiber optic sight, a rail, and threaded muzzle. Nothing wrong that, but some may want more traditional models.

Does anyone know anything about Ruger's plans for Marlin?

Not sure if this answers your specific questions, but read the last few posts on page 4 of the existing thread a few down the page from this thread.

I don't know what Ruger's specific plans are for Marlin. The Marlin brand lost a lot of credibility at the hands of Remington and I would imagine Ruger is going to try to rebuild the Marlin reputation a couple of guns at a time to start.

Thanks. While there isn't an answer there, it probably indicates that there isn't an answer outside of Ruger's walls.

After the 1895SBL rolls out, Killoy said the next gun to return to the Marlin catalog will likely be the Model 336, a people's champ in .30-30, and, later, the Model 1894 in .357 and .44 Magnum. Also fleshing out the Model 1895 will be rifles chambered in .444 Marlin.
