Carbon 15 is long since gone. I have a couple. I don't mind the lower in carbon and it has the advantage of the mag well being integral, but the upper scares me even in 9mm. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

I seriously doubt this, but please tell me that now the Carbon 15 is out of production it has developed a cult following and collectors are driving prices to insane levels. I would be willing to trade mine for a Python or something . That would include the optic and 2 mags, one original Colt. A guy can hope.

What exactly do you doubt? The original post asked about "current" options, and I'm pretty sure that Carbon 15 is not current. But maybe there is production somewhere I don't know about as the rights have been traded a number of times. If they are worth a bunch I'm in like flint as I've a few. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

my appology for putting it that way, i am sorry . I have no doubt they are no longer made. What i doubt is that there is any collector interest in the ones that were made.

I'm lost on where I might have suggested there is collector interest? I'd never propose one to anyone for anything given both the novel production method and material, out of production status, unique construction attributes(especially the barrel nut), etc. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

If I didn't have an APC right now, I'd be getting one of these. https://freedomordnance.com/fx-9-pistol/ Come in a carbine also. I inspected one, very well made and takes Glock mags. Joe Back in Tx.

Color me confused Blackwater. Here is at best if I read the spec's an near AR but not an AR from a tiny producer with no market share, visibility or support. And for what advantage? Why would anyone sign up for such a thing. Run away. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

3/4 flap this thread has some strange stuff including people recommending guns out of production and guns from the silly section of suppliers who are unproven. In 2010 I was diagnosed with lead blood issues and the only way to continue shooting was lead free ammo. Easy in 9mm not so easy in 5.56. So for the last 8 years I have used a 9mm carbine in competition, even if the rules made that silly. Its now tens of thousands of rounds. In actual 9mm AR's I can say Colt, CMMG and JPE are completely reliable from extensive personal experience. To that I would add Wilson as I have an upper and parts, but I can't say 100% from personal experience that its GTG as a factory gun, but I've no issue recommending one. Back to your original post I expect all these are near the same price point. Of the non AR 9mm's I can say that the CZ, Beretta, and MPX will be completely reliable. Price not at all related. But the MPX is closest to an AR and mostly you can use AR stuff. The trigger is the odd point as most don't support that fwiw. Hope that helps. More if there is some point that needs more detail. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

Thanks. It's been very interesting. ********************** 53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. I don't know why you limit yourself to the AR. I mean it's OK ... But if I couldn't have a MP5 variant, I'd go with my second choice, the CZ Scorpion EVO ... and there is a binary trigger for it! If you really want something you'll find a way ... ... if you don't you'll find an excuse. I'm really not a "kid" anymore ... but I haven't grown up yet either
