My Marlin Camp 9. It's a really fun gun to shoot, but sadly has sat in the back of the safe for a few years.

My Arisaka 99. These really are fantastic WWII rifles. The action is based on, but stronger than the Mauser, the trigger is decent for a battle rifle, the rifle is light for a WWII battle rifle, and the sighting system with rear ring and front barleycorn is excellent. Recoil is modest, and my gun is very accurate and easy to shoot.

Ammo is a bit of a problem, and that's kind of why it doesn't get much use.

My Ohio Ordnance BAR.

Absolute hoot to shoot. I reload for all my military 30-06’s but, don’t for the BAR I use surplus. It is so easy to end up putting a lot of rounds through her. But, with no more surplus 30-06 at the CMP it just gets left behind.

And singin' my tune again. I've got one fully stuffed ammo can of M2 ball loaded in clips for my M1 rifle and I feel compelled to hang onto it.

Marlin 336SS that my wife got me for Christmas 2002, before we could really afford it. We had five young kids, she was a stay at home mom, I had just graduated law school, but she knew I loved that gun, so she surprised me with it, hidden behind a chair in our first house, had our oldest boy retrieve it as "one last gift." Beautiful gun, Beautiful lady.

Probably my Creedmoors.
One, an AR-10 the other my rebarreled SiG SSG 3000 ... they both sit in the safe more than they should but mostly because I dont have a good place to stretch them out, shooting a Creedmoor (or 308) at 100 is a waste of powder when all I'm doing is killing paper. 300 to 500 yards, for me is comfortable when I get the opportunity but right now thats rare. I'd like to move out to 600 to 1,000 yards; but there isn't anywhere around here, closest is a 2 hour drive, one way.

If you really want something you'll find a way ...
... if you don't you'll find an excuse.

I'm really not a "kid" anymore ... but I haven't grown up yet either Wink

For now, its my M-1a and my Remm 700 in .308

I have almost unlimited access to pistol ranges and a range up to 100Yds. So bringing out either long gun is somewhat unproductive outside of zeroing them and playing around at 100yds.

Hopefully, I'll soon have access to something out to 300 - 350 yds.

My Mini-14. It's not that I don't want to shoot it...I love shooting that gun. Just this past week I was going to take it out, but then decided that I really needed to get some time in on my patrol rifle, so the AR went with and the mini got left at home. Again.

I need to take the old girl out soon and shoot some steel.

My old Remington 700 30.06 that I've owned for many years, and killed many a deer with. Last year I build a .450 Bushmaster and started hunting with it, and the old Remington just sits in the safe.

My Marlin Model 60 from 1961 doesn't get out as much as she deserves. It can still shoot the O's out of a Coors can from 30 yards out without much effort from me.

You know, I'm not sure I've ever heard a bad word about those old Marlin .22's. A buddy of mine in college had his grandfather's (dunno which model) and we use to plink off his back porch with it and it always made smiles. It was a bolt-action tube feeder and his back yard opened up to an open field (farm land), so we used to just toss cans out a ways and make them dance. Cheap fun.

Cheap, quiet, no recoil, laser accurate. Yeah, my childhood would have sucked without my Marlin. Smile
