Next Thursday is 10/22 day, after all.... Wink

no chance on the planet my dealer would have one, but if they did I'd buy it right now. Shows unavailable on ruger web on the link but unclear what that means and didn't investigate.

I visited a local shop back in May to ask about the Ruger SBR, though I had stock number 33000 (8-inch, non-takedown) in mind. "We'll put you on the list and call you when one comes in." Okay, fine.

It's funny, because about two weeks ago I drove by that shop and thought maybe my name had fallen off the list, or the list had gone away, or so many other things. No worries, that's definitely on the "want but don't need" list anyway. And I didn't think a further thing about it.

Yesterday they called me. The 33000 (10-inch, takedown) I had asked about hadn't arrived yet (they had ordered some of each back in the spring) but this 33001 had arrived.

I went and took a look. Irresponsible Me can come up with several ways to justify it.
- It's a 10/22. What could go wrong?
- It's just cooler a snowman's butt!
- Next Thursday is... 10/22!

Responsible Me asks, "is that where you need to put your dollars right now? You're in the middle of a house reno project."

Further tempting a breaking of the piggy bank is the selection of suppressors on hand at the shop. I got to look at the Dead Air Mask, the Sparrow, and the RXD. The Sparrow is $300, the other two are roughly $475.

"Pig-hammer! Get thee away from me!" Big Grin
