Brought back to life again?
Well from
my vista behind our evergreen Iron Curtain, this thing within this restricted state isn't any more compliant than a standard AR. Here in imprisoned WA state a rifle being semi-auto coupled with a drop box mag like this SIG can't have the handguard (
tsk, shrouds the barrel...naughty, naughty) or the threaded barrel (
because we all know flash hiders make any rifle more evil). So right out of the box it's a non-starter. I'm so glad; I can now spend three large on something else, like paying my upcoming fall property tax bill. <sarcasm off>

hudrI got into the 556 series pretty heavy, back in the day.
I still have a bad taste in my mouth (and wallet) after the way SIG treated that series of rifles.
I can see this going the same way.

Lefty SigThis thing uses a standard MCX LT upper so it will be no less reliable than any other MCX LT. Bolt carrier, bolt, recoil assembly are all "standard", so nothing weird. I think that's the whole point. Versus the AR "rifle" lowers with custom bolt carriers and recoil systems.
I'm sure the version for ban states will have the muzzle brake pinned on, taking the barrel threads out of the equation. Mag release can be changed to a "bullet button" or similar.
Compared to "featureless" AR's with finned pistol grips and other absurdities, this looks objectively better. But no I wouldn't buy one instead of a regular MCX LT because I live in a free state.

12131$1400 @ PSA through 10/31. And get a free P365 from SIG. So, that comes out to about $900 for the rifle.
Well, and just like that, it's out of stock in less than an hour. No surprise there.

Pretty darned amazing. If I were in an area where AR15s were a no-go, I'd ignore the rifle's funky look and have one in the shopping cart.

1 - How can Sig release a rifle with a MSRP of almost $3000 then drop it to a price point that is one third of their original MSRP? Was Sig testing the market to see if they could get away with the higher MSRP thus resulting in a much higher profit margin product?
2 - At the revised pricing and the specials being advertised, is this a rifle that more people should consider since it is viewed to fall into the same “non-assault” rifle as the Mini-14, thus possibly remaining off of the radar by many political groups?

BB61If they priced it 200-300 above a decked out Ruger Mini they'd sell quite a few. At this price, I'd go buy a used Benelli R1 chambered in .223 or a new one in .308 and save $$$.

Lt CHEGI was very tempted at that price, figuring that the price of the rifle is about what just a piston upper would cost, plus you’re getting a free pistol. Then I realized that SIG doesn’t sell just normal MCX lowers, and since the dimensions between a standard AR lower and the MCX upper are ever so slightly different that you would be able to perceive the dimensional differences if you just use an AR lower with the required SIG parts. Plus I already have a 365, which is ok but I’m not in love with and definitely don’t want another standard 365, so I passed. It wasn’t the easiest deal to pass on, but ultimately I did. I am hopeful that there will be other similar blowout deals as we get closer to the holidays, hopefully from other companies as well.

RogueJSKNot quite, because in this case, there are multiple online gun shops with the same $1399-$1499 pricing.
So either they're being blown out at the distributor/manufacturer level, or this is the new price point that Sig has settled on.

They are tempting at that price and would make a nice rifle,especially for ban states. Glad to see the prices are coming down on them. With a free P365, it seems to good to be true or they are missing their mark.
