It looks interesting.

I wonder why, though, 7.62×39 rather than, say, 300 Blackout. Sort-of cheap ammo? Otherwise I would think that a 300 BLK chambering would allow for more ammunition options.

Could be a good alternative to the hard to obtain Ares SCR for those in ban states.

So it’s an AR-ish rifle with only 1 evil feature for California, the detachable mag ? Cool story. I’ll stick with my AR rifles that have not been emasculated and my 223 bolt guns with much fewer moving parts for precision shooting.

I get that it's probably marketed to folks living with "feature" restrictions. Maybe it will be successful in those areas.

It will not win Beautiful Rifle awards.

Looks like a modernized KelTec SU16
Betting it'll have a fairly high MSRP

An article I found claimed $3k.

I kinda like it, but I certainly don't $3k like it.

quote:
SIG is promoting the rifle to ranchers and people who work the land, because as we all know the American farmer and rancher are known for having $3,000 MSRP to throw down on the latest big iron.

Three thousand dollars is downright insulting.

SIG-Sauer has grown too big for their britches.

That's insanity.
I was thinking mid $1k range, definitely not over $2k.
DOA.

Has nothing I need on my ranch. And it is ugly, and costs too much. Big "nope" from me.

I kind of like it but don't like it. I definitely don't like it at 3K, that's insane.

Fightlite makes a lower for an AR upper and is much cheaper and I prefer it instead.

I mean, it's actually MORE insulting than the look of the gun, which from looking at it just DID NOT seem possible with I started from the top of this thread.

Ugly and serves no purpose in the American market. 3k is hilarious.

...I don't hate it. It's oddly intriguing for some reason. I kinda get ppsh-41 vibes. $3k is a no go though.

The fightlight SCR is 1300 and in stock. If Sig had it priced in that range, it might get some traction.

Holy Shit! I was looking for the price at posting and couldn't find. Man, these @#%^% are really something. Announcing new hardware and making it unattainable to most. Roll Eyes

SIG-Sauer would be very far from the first company to trade on its name and reputation, but to accuse them of such in all respects would be unfair, especially given SIG's success in producing fine firearms, not only for the police and consumer market, but also for the U.S. military, where it has had great success over the past few years.

But, in certain respects, trading on their name and reputation is what seems to be going on with the pricing of products such as the one in question. Certainly there are potential buyers out there with money to burn, and if SIG-Sauer wishes to cater to this rarefied segment, they can do so. Perhaps SIG doesn't feel beholden to the common man, but unless I'm missing something, we are the people who have driven their market over the decades. Government contracts and police purchases come and go, but the American shooter abides.

I agree. Very interesting concept, but not at that price. I thought the regular MCX was pricey, but holy cow!
