Pinned gas blocks are definitely extremely robust. Absolutely necessary with an exposed gas block which is easy to apply leverage to, like a standard front sight base. I don't consider it to be absolutely crucial for a low profile gas block that is protected by a handguard. That is just me though. | |||

Just an update. Took the rifle to the range for a little break-in. 200 rounds fired flawless but rifle sights are off, so I'm going to have to take it to the department range and get it done. I used the optic for the rest of the break-in. After further inspection of the gas block, it is in fact pinned, so one less issue to worry about. Ordered a Radian Raptor SL charging handle and some Ergo hand guard grips since the low profile guard got fairly hot. Looking forward to getting for time behind the trigger. The Working Police.....
