So I ran across the JTAC Elf Owl & Screech owl setup the other day and boy does it look like an absolute hoot!!

Sadly, Howa no longer makes their Mini actions in .300blk so the pistol is pretty much off the table.

However their rifle setup with collapsing stock and a 16.5” barrel seems pretty nice.

Yes, I know these really serve no practical purpose I just think they are pretty cool looking. Nice little compact thing to shoot 200 yards or so. Want small, compact, with a lower recoil round.

Thinking one in .350 legend or .223 using the Howa Mini action (if they ever become available again as those 2 rounds will be just fine in a shorter barrel.
The .223 could do a Remington action as well and Magpul ACIS mags.
Both rounds are inexpensive and I already have guns chambered in them and quite a bit of ammo.

Anyone else making similar chassis that are reasonably priced like the JTAC?

A rattler is that small or smaller overall. Do you need it to be bolt action for the sound suppression? I do like those stubby AR grips.

Neat but in now way meets the affordable requirement.

The JTAC chassis is $800 fully loaded and a Howa barreled action new is about $450.

Perhaps consider the new CZ 600 Trail.

BOOM!!!!
Street price should be around $1k and uses standard AR mags!
The 7.62x32 chambering is a bit odd but I guess they wanted to incorporate their Bren mags.

What Chassis bolt guns are any cheaper?

That CZ is pretty slick looking.
And, with your JTAC + Howa estimate above, you're in the same ballpark.
I like the sliding stock/brace over the folder.

One of these in .223/5.56 would make for a neat field/pack gun.

Well, you've certainly got me there.

Damn. That was one of my two big excuses for not looking at a 600 in 7.62x39. The other was that it theoretically doesn't do anything my 527 Carbine does, but then again it's got the retracting stock and chassis...gah. Enablement is everywhere here.

True. Though my last sentence says reasonably priced.
