$375 lowest I could find by far. Excellent German optic. Only downfall it does not come
With a riser to co witness but those are easy enough to come by. Guess I just need to figure out which one to go with.

Sells from the Steiner store on Amazon so I have no reason to believe it is fake.

Arrived and this seems to be quite a nice optic.
Glass is super clear and the dot is very crisp at distance and out to about 25 yards. Anything closer and my astigmatism kicks in and the dot gets a bit of a tail down and to the right. But at that distance no accuracy issues.
The auto adjuster is pretty slick. Only downfall to this optic is battery life.

Picked up my KDG mount. So happy with this combo I just ordered another Stiener and another KDG.

So I bought the first as I am currently building a rifle for it.
I stuck it on my 9mm AR that only has iron sights. Just to see what it was like mounted. Well I guess I should say only HAD iron sights now that I ordered another.

Though I have a feeling this current build will replace my current work rifle and the Stiener is not an approved optic for work. So the MRO on it will likely get swapped to the current build for work though will likely get one of these Sidelok mounts.

Then the retired work rifle will likely be just an irons rifle as it probably won’t get much more use.
I also have 10mm and .350 Legend ARs that I am ironing out some issues with and have not bought optics for so the extra Stiener will likely go on one of those.

So long story short it’ll have a home.

I think smschulz was referring to himself about the purchase 'cause I know I'm doing my best to justify buying this excellent optic without having anything to put it on... yet. Smile

Thanks for the heads-up on a great deal!

Figured as much but figured I would post my convoluted story because most of us around here are pretty similar.
While we may not have a specific need for it right at this moment when a solid deal comes along we can pretty easily come up with a way to fill that need.

Mine showed up, as expected and it is a quality unit, but I haven’t decided if I’m going to keep it or not … I’m disappointed that it doesn’t have a auto-off feature and it doesn’t use a standard 2032 battery. I definitely would have never paid the $529 MSRP for it.

If the weather is decent tomorrow I hope to try it out on my MP5K, MP5SD or maybe the EVO and see how I like it.

It does turn off automatically though it does not have shake awake/auto on.
I noted the battery and life are the biggest disappointment but not a big deal really. I have a decent stock of Panasonic 1632s because that is what our vehicle key fobs use.
I’ll swap these out every six months instead of yearly like I do in my Trijicon.

The Trijicon will certainly remain on my main go to rifle and these are a bit more fun oriented (hopefully they aren’t needed for other things). But the tiny foot print with good FOV, super clear glass and crisp dot, make up for the battery.
The auto adjusting dot works really well too in the testing I have done so far.
Would have not paid $529 for it either but one is getting a really solid optic for the sale price.

I am kind of iffy on Steiner in general lately. I have four of their OTAL-C IR lasers; I invested heavily because it makes for somewhat affordable NV ability, when combined with a SF vampire light. One of my lasers would emit a dim projection when the switch was in the off position; it took them three months to fix it. All of these lasers, to include ones owned by friends, seem to have battery contact trouble. You'll start to get intermittent function after a while, and it seems that the battery cap loosens during a shootong session; it's typically solved by cranking the cap down tight again, but it's a nagging issue that shouldn't exist.

We didn’t get the rain the weatherman called for, just 80+ degrees with 80%+ humidity!
So I took my EVO and MP5K. The elevation was a bit high on both but the windage was dead on. On the EVO I’ve got the optional factory sights and it co-witnessed perfectly but sits too high on the MP5K.

I’m glad to hear it has auto-off, and I don’t really care about the shake-on. I found a Amazon deal on batteries so I’m going to keep it.

Glad you ended up liking it. For me on the AR platform the Kinetic Development mount co witnessed perfectly with my Magpul MBUS sights.
Which batteries did you go with??
I try to stick to Energizer and Panasonic.
I saw Amazon had a pretty good deal on Sony’s which likely is a quality battery as well.

I bought one of these because I'm an idiot. Big Grin
Err.. I mean, I wanted to test the enclosed business. (I say idiot because I have three new mini dot sights sitting in the box. I also ordered a SIG Romeo 5 this week to give to someone till they can figure out what they want/can afford on a rifle I gave them.)

I own several "traditional" open style mini RMR type sights, and that's always worried me. Keeping them out of the rain and snow hunting has always been an issue, keeping the cover on them sort of defeats the purpose. So I ordered one of these to play with. Seems okay so far just fiddling with it.

But I'm curious about the box. It almost appears as if it's been opened and resealed. Large round ended taper holding it closed, over a smaller rectangle piece of tape. Wondering if that's just how they do it, or if these are refurbished, or maybe old stock that was opened and resealed for some reason.

I’ll double check both of my boxes when I get home but I don’t recall that description.

I do know everything is identical on my two (packaging and optic) to the one my buddy ordered from Optics Planet the week before me.

It's subtle, easy not to see. Not a crude tape job. That's what makes me wonder if that's just how they are, or something else.

Still not sure what I'm going to do with it. I was going to put it on a shotgun, but not sure. For fun I recently took the scout scope off my Steyr and stuck a Meprolight "RMR" on it that I bought a few of. Found I have no trouble hitting relatively small stuff out past 200 yards from field positions with it. But my thought is it will be far too susceptible to all sorts of debris, snow etc in the field. Was getting ready to put the scope back on, might throw the Steiner on there for a spell instead.

I have a clear rectangle sticker/tape on each flap.
Just there to keep the flaps from opening. None of mine were cut. This is fairly typical.

Having spent a little time as an inventory control specialist in retail I wish more folks would do this.
Products that have flipped out of their packaging in shipping is not uncommon and is easily solved with this method.

Drifting from what's important lol, it doesn't really matter but what the heck. I took some rushed phone pictures the other day but none showed up. I zoomed in, cropped , pumped up the contrast and blackpoint to make the show. You can see the corner square/rectangle sticker well, and the rounded edge of the sticker over that less prominently.

I lost track of this thread so this comment/question is a little late …

I’ve noticed mine works fine in the sunlight however with cloud cover or when under the part of the firing line that’s covered my dot goes out … I can push the power button and it comes back on for like 10 seconds but then goes out again. In the sunshine it stays on fine.

Does anyone else’s do this or is mine defective?
