I've always wanted the sister SAKO Quad w/ all the barrels but price always kept me away. Tikka can't do wrong if they maintain their rep for accuracy and affordability

If it was possible to swap barrels on this one I would switch from my CZ455 in a heart beat. Love my Tikka T3!

EuroOptic lists them.

I am not sure how I missed that as it is clearly listed on the picture posted earlier in the thread.

I see the pic shows it will have different barrel lengths. Wish a 16" or 18" 22lr was available for preorder. I'd imagine 20" with a suppressor it would get rather long.

It depends on what one is doing with it. I compete in precision/tactical matches with a 26" barrel and a 9" can. We move in and out of barricades, barriers, trees, bushes, rocks, fences, open windows, and whatever else the match directors decide to put in our way.

Well thats true. I should have said what I intend to do with it. I'd like it for plinking around the farm. I'd like to take it into the deer stand with and squirrel hunt when its slow.

This past year I used my Remington 700, w/ 20" barrel and a Sandman L on it. It was rather unwieldy in the deer blind. Certainly it can be done, but I think I'd appreciate a smaller overall length. However I may also be overthinking it when it as well.

Does the barrel length make much of a difference with .22 rifles?

It would just be my personal preference. Maybe 20” with suppressor wouldn’t be too long for me but I think I’d prefer a shorter overall package.

Conventional wisdom is that maximum velocity of 22 Long Rifle ammunition is from about a 16 inch barrel; longer than that and it decreases.

I had to go look that up.

http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/22.html

There does seem to be a general plateau around 15 to 16 inch barrel length, then an improvement at 18 inches.

I’ve no idea why that would be.
