I am very anal and a tad OCD. More often than not, I will pass on a gun if it doesn't come with the box and items that came with it from the factory.

I save every one that came in a box, cardboard or otherwise. I only have one rifle without a box. All the other pistols, rifles and shotguns have boxes. I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not.

Every one that I bought new. Rifle boxes in the attic above the garage, Handguns go into a rug, plastic cases piled up all over the garage.

I keep pistol boxes. I will keep a long gun box only long enough to range test the gun. Then I toss it. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

I was just thinking about this yesterday as I have two rifle boxes that need to go in the attic. For two uncommon rifles that are worth more money with the boxes. Otherwise not particularly. I keep the pistol boxes, honestly I usually end up keeping the pistol boxes longer than the pistols. That’s happened several times where I’ve sold them only to come across the boxes years later. _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.

Also thought if this recently. If I bought it new, and it came with the box, I’ve kept the box. Sometimes, I’ve sold the rifle and forgotten to sell the box with it. I’ve got one I’ve gotta run over to my old boss sometime in the next few weeks before I move for good. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

Yup Shelf in the attic for the cardboard boxes, shelf in the shop for plastic cases. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. You should know I'll be there for you!

They're after my Lucky Charms! |
Nope. I'll keep plastic cases, since most are lockable and good for back of the Jeep when driving to the range. That being said, I do have a cardboard box a 20" upper came in. Inside it are the parts and stuff that I can't see throwing away, but I never use. Lord, your ocean is so very large and my divos are so very f****d-up Dirt Sailors Unite!

I keep them if I get them but I don't buy many new firearms. I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log.

My Tikka is the only one that came in a cardboard box, made us of it to box my daughter's takedown recurve bow when we moved. Still have all the plastic pistol boxes. The rest of my long guns were gifts or bought in pieces. The Enemy's gate is down.

I have probably only bought 3 or 4 firearms that had a box, as in new, the rest of the guns in the safe were bought used, and came with no box https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

Shitcanned them all, except plastic pistol boxes before we moved. If I ever needed a long gun box to ship one to the factory, I’d stop by a gun store and ask for one of theirs. FWIW, years ago down in SW VA , a guy passed that was a rather avid collector, he had a nice collection of 70's and 80's "assault rifles" , Valmets, HK's etc, and when he passed, his family cleaned out his house the gave the firearms to a local auction house to sell, and tossed the rest, the rest included the factory box for those firearms, and no one is sure if they tossed the extras that were in the boxes as well, https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

I keep all the boxes. Collection is way down from a peak years ago, so there are only a few now.
