I picked this up a few days ago from a local rimfire nut. New Magnum Research MLR in 22WMR with graphite barrel. It’s a slick little rifle and will serve the youngers well. I put a Harris S-BRM bipod on it, along with the new Crimson Trace Hardline PRO 4-16 and some Vortex rings. It came with 10 new nine round mags and I ordered a similar amount of BX-15’s for it. I’m hoping to put it to use in a couple weeks during our cabin trip. Thankfully 22WMR isn’t hard to find and we picked up a couple thousand rounds for it. I’m actively searching for a CMR-30 for myself to play along.

Other than rarity for a collector, there's little reason to want one. As a shooter, they were prone to extraction problems and many came back to Newport for cracked bolts. Ruger cut their losses and stopped making them.

Yes prices are higher for the 10/22 mag. I’m another one that doesn’t feel the need for one.

Volquartsen may make a semi in 22 mag, I’d be looking there. For me, the 17 HMR gets used much more than any 22 mag.

The Volquartsen's are top notch. I picked up one quite a few years ago with a McMillan thumbhole stock and fluted stainless steel barrel. Great shooter and quite accurate given the limits of .22 WMR ammo. They are, of course, quite a bit more expensive now.
