Rate my setup but be gentle. It's my first build that wasn't a packaged kit.
That's a Magpul MOE buttstock but it's a little wiggly and it rattles. Plus there is no QD mount. I'm thinking BCM Stock Mod 2 SOPMOD, good choice or nah? Let's get me a light for this thing next. I'm thinking of a Streamlight Rail Mount 2. GTG? I got a Naked Slingster for it but can't rate it until I get some QD swivels. Thanks to P220 Smudge for all the help on this build.

Nice setup! I really like the 11.5 as it offers the best compromise between ballistics and maneuverability. I've no experience with the BCM stocks but I've used these Magpul stocks on a couple builds and they don't wiggle. You just need to use an end plate qd mount or screw one into the slot in the stock to attach a sling. https://magpul.com/moe-sl-m-ca...-stock-mil-spec.html I have gone to the end plate mounting location on all my rifles though as I like the way the hang higher and closer to me than when mounted on the stock. I have this Streamlight on two rifles and so far it's been 100%. The pressure switch is good quality and has a constant on button up front and a large pad that is a momentary switch. A double tap turns on strobe mode which is pretty cool. Are you going to add a flip up rear sight? The newer red dots are pretty reliable but I still have to have something as a backup just for my peace of mind.

Do you need a stamp for that 11.5" with a stock? Not trying to be smart or anything, I'm genuinely curious. I'm a little behind the times with regard to some of the rules. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Yes. P220 Smudge, really helped me through the process. My God-given rights cost me $200 this time.

Any reason you didn't save your $200 and the indignity of permission by simply throwing a brace on it? Mine all perform good enough that I really couldn't tell the difference when shouldered. Plus I can legally carry it loaded in my truck and cross state lines without having to get another permission slip.

I had that one in my cart as well. I never really got into the AR pistol thing. I wanted a carbine, an SBR and next I’m going to put together a nice 20” rifle length with some nice glass on top or maybe an AR-10.

Nice build Mark! I tried one of those more vertical grips on an AR-15 and never could get used to it. Just personal preference. Looks like a nice rifle!

i got this one more for the extra width than the angle but it turned out that I like the more vertical-ness as well.

BCM makes a great VFG that's stumpy. I use kind of a c-clamp grip with it and it's very comfortable and stable. Kinda like this.

I think they're referring to the actual pistol grip, which has a more vertical angle. That little stubby foregrip looks neat, though. The Enemy's gate is down.

I actually have one of those but it’s for M-LOK. I’ll eventually get it on there.

Nice set-up, Mark. The next step up for Magpul eliminates the wiggle with a locking lever. MOE CTR maybe? If you really enjoy a tightly fitted stock, the MFT Minimalist was the tightest one I ever had on an AR. For a lightweight set-up, I went with the Elzetta polymer mount and the Streamlight Polytac light. Have fun and shoot strait!

I'm not an authority on this, but I don't believe that is correct. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

If you plan to use a RDS all the time, and have no plans to use a rear iron sight, you could shave the top off the front sight base and get that sight tower out of the field of view from through the red dot. Just a possibility suggestion.

I'll probably replace it with a LPGB.

You could definitely do that. If that one is pinned on, it is going to be completely secure. And removing those pins can be a real bear. Be aware that they are tapered pins, and will only come out one direction. Off the top of my head, I can't recall which way they come out.

Are you questioning because you're not sure like Gustofer? That's fine. What would you like to know?

Mark, if you assembled the lower yourself, did you verify that the magpul stock was civilian or mil spec and the buffer tube was civilian or milspec? I learned the hard way that not all tubes are identical nor are the stocks. The difference in width could be the cause of your rattle. Just something worth checking on.
You are correct. You can legally purchase an AR braced pistol and carry it right now nationally. The nationwide injunction has been in place for a couple of weeks now. However ATF is appealing it, and while I doubt the ATF will win, they might, at which point they will have to set a new date of compliance for all the newly acquired pistol braced AR's and start the process all over.
