| Buy that Classic SIG in All Stainless, No rail wear will be painless. |
I just bought 1000 Berry's copper plated lead projectiles. 44 caliber, 220 grain flat point truncated cone. Hodgdon online reloading data center has a load with that Berry's projectile and uses .44 Magnum cases and Hodgdon CFE Pistol Powder. Advertised velocity of about 950 feet per second. It's very close performance wise to .45ACP ball ammo. That's my plan for a nice easy shooting .44 Magnum reload. Hornady XTP projectiles are expensive and unneeded for casual shooting/plinking. The loaded round overall length for the Berry's reload is within 0.010" as compared to my Hornady 200 grain XTP jacketed hollow point. I won't even bother changing the seating die adjustment. The Berry's copper plated lead is half the cost or slightly less compared to the Hornady XTP recipe. Yes, you need to get set up for reloading your own ammo! Apparently we have similar tastes. I have that rifle in a brass carbine 357 version. I too added Ranger Precision takedown parts and new peep sights. Yours is a keeper. Nice job. | |||
