i’ve been a member for a long time, but not many posts due to lots of traveling as a consultant. I’m now fully retired and have time to participate.

Tried accessing different parts of the forum and permissions not granted please advise the criteria to have full access
Thank you

OK, I sort of understand. I’m not sure it solves any problems. I’m on a lot of other forums and never had an issue, but those are your rules.

I tried to send a PM to one of the moderators to ask this question and was not allowed due to permissions that seems to be highly restrictive.

Just for confirmation, are you saying there is no way to send a PM to a member say in the classified section if I want to ask a private question?

No PM function on this forum. Contacts are made via emails, which are listed in members’ Profile pages. For the reason already stated, only members who registered before 3/22/22 can access other members’ Profile pages.

Correct.

What you can do is, post in whatever thread that the other member is in and ask him to email you, assuming that he registered before 3/22/22. Otherwise, he can’t look you up, either.

Well, sort of. Newer members do not have permission to look at other members' profiles, so you can't look up an email address that way.

This restriction was put in place because scammers were abusing the ability to find email addresses and trying to cheat people, in the Classified section.

But there is nothing that stops you from sending an email to another member if you already know his / her email address.

You missed the cutoff by a month. I've granted you permission to view member profiles. Let me know if you have any difficulties.
