Unfortunately, this class has been canceled due to low enrollment. This is somewhat unheard of for our Mesa classes, but we think the timing was just not right. Allen is working on new dates for 2020.

OpSpec Training returns to Mesa, Arizona and the Rio Salado Sportsman’s Club to offer our two-day, Advanced Pistol Marksmanship class on Nov. 8 & 9, 2019. The course is for a shooter who wants to become faster and more accurate for defensive or competitive shooting. This course places a heavy emphasis on process oriented technical marksmanship to solve various marksmanship challenges. Rio Salado is located about 30 minutes northeast of Mesa, and 30 minutes east of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

We encourage you to reserve your class slot and make hotel reservations early, as this has been a popular class in the past.

This is not a basic class. At minimum, students should have taken a basic handgun safety course and be confident with their firearm and gear. We expect students to have experience shooting on a line in a safe manner, including loading, reloading and drawing/shooting from the holster. Shooters with IDPA, USPSA, NRA Action Pistol, 3-Gun, law enforcement and military experience meet the program prerequisites.

Wondering about the OpSpec Training experience? READ THE TESTIMONIALS related to this class!

Advanced Pistol Marksmandship
The two-day Advanced Pistol Marksmanship course is for a shooter who wants to become faster and more accurate for defensive or competitive shooting. This course places a heavy emphasis on process oriented technical marksmanship to solve various marksmanship challenges. The goal of this course is to take the shooter through a series of logically organized problems, and equip the shooter with the ability to solve them. This has been described as a very mentally challenging course that pays a dividend in overall technical skills.

Is there a place I can ship my gun to and back, rather than try to fly with it?

I drove in February, but it’s too far for a reliable drive from the snowy states.

Thanks!

There really should not be an issue flying with your pistol as part of your checked-in luggage. It's done all the time.

Due to logistics, airports do have different routines during check-in and pick-up.

https://opspectraining.com/tra...asses-with-firearms/

I expect you'll be able to ship your ammo in advance.

Can you contact me via email? Let me know what airport you'd be flying in from and I may be able to provide some additional information.

And yes, you can ship the gun to yourself, but that requires someone in the Phoenix area to accept your firearm. Although shipping ammo to our host may be possible, shipping the gun to him may be out-of-scope for his duties.

Riley-

I fly with guns frequently. It sometimes even *saves* me time, when it's busy. I tell one of the roving airline employees "Excuse me, I am declaring an unloaded firearm. Is this the right line?". They often pull me out and take me right to the front of the line and check me in.

If you're not comfortable with that, you're welcome to borrow a pistol from me, for the class. Just let me know what your preference is.

Bruce

Thanks all!

I’m still looking into to it. I know it’s done all the time, I’m just nervous about losing the guns. Though shipping probably isn’t any better, I had FedEx leave a pistol on the porch.
