I'm looking to purchase a Sharps Bros. wooden grip frame for my P365 or P365XL. I like the appearance (in online photos, anyway) and understand it is thicker than the Sig OEM. There are no Sharps dealers in my area. I found Wilson Combat's replacement to be uncomfortable for repeated shooting given its aggressive checkering. I haven't seen any discussion of the Sharps product for several months on this site. Has anyone purchased this frame for their P365 model(s)? Are they too wide for existing kydex/leather holsters? Any impressions would be appreciated. It's a $300 gamble!

I have one and don't like it. I bought it from Sig, and it only showed one view. In reality, there is some kind of thumb protrusion that makes it very wide. It does not fit my existing holsters well, except for a minimalist IWB, but the thumb protrusion makes it VERY uncomfortable.

I note that their advertising refers to these protrusions as "gas pedals" (?). I've gone ahead and ordered a pair but if holsters are incompatible and the "pedals" reduce these guns to target-aimed models designed for elaborate hand positioning, they may be shipped right back. The beauty of the P365 series in their handy size for concealed applications. These frames might spoil a good thing.

I always thought a "gas pedal" referred to a slide release lever. These are not levers-they are built in thumb rests of some kind. It DOES NOT move, it is integral with the frame.

That IS an odd design choice.

“Gas pedal” (aka thumb rest) has nothing to do with the slide release lever (SRL). Can you imagine designing the thumb rest as part of the SRL? The slide will never stay open after the last round. I think you meant to say the takedown lever (TDL). The thumb rest can be part of the TDL, or it can be a stand alone deal that’s integral with the frame.

Took delivery on my Sharps Bros. P365/XL cherrywood frame, last week. The unit adds a couple of ounces to my P365XL and provides a thicker grip. The silly "gas pedals," are scooped out thumb/finger rests on both sides of the frame, just ahead of the trigger guard. They are of no use to me and prohibit fitting the pistol into my kydex holsters, even when loosening tension screws. Leather holsters seem to accommodate the frame's extra width. Presumably, the pedal is intended for the shooter's support hand thumb when firing from a two-handed hold. This is not my typical grip. Since other pistols do not provide this novelty thumb rest, I am not going to retrain my natural hand position for this accessory. Overall, I find the replacement frame to be sturdy and handsome. It fits my FCU perfectly. Range time showed no appreciable change in recoil compared to the Sig polymer frame. My XL now resembles a mini Hi Power, in appearance. Given its $300 price, however, and the unnecessary gas pedal modification which interferes with most holsters, I would not recommend this frame for purchase.
