and $35.00 to get them installed ! Eek

my eyes like them a lot better than the o.e.m. Ruger P90 sights.

but $100.00 ? ?

I checked around the whole gun ( used ) is only retailing for $335.00 .

I was expecting 30, 35 maybe $40.00
and $15 to knock the old ones out and put the new ones in ,

see what happens when you get out of the gun and gun accessories loop for 20 years

A hundred bucks is typical.

Oh, and the cost of the gun is irrelevant.

$65 is not bad for a set of FO sights.
Trijicon HD XR sights are about $175.

I have a Wheeler sight tool so installation is about 30 minutes of my time.

If the sights aren't made by Fusion Firearms, they might actually fit. Wink

OP, get yourself one of those Wheeler sight tools. You won't regret it. I had six guns that I wanted to change sights. Local smith quoted me $240 . I ordered a Wheeler sight tool and couldn't be happier. It's very simple to do for guns such as Glocks, Sigs, S&W. Unless it's a 1911 with peened front sight then by all means let a smith deal with it.

wheeler sight pusher: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-q_a0Vt2E0

thats slick , I think I could work that thing.

but not for one sight every 15 years

should I ask the smith if he uses one of those ?
or does he some how just bang them out and in ?

I've replaced several by just putting the slide in a vice and drive them out with a hammer and punch.

Fit the new sights with a file and tap them back in with a plastic punch and small hammer.
I use calipers and center the sights to the slide.

IME you really only need the front FO and if your pistol isn’t hitting where you want it’s a good opportunity to use Dawson’s calculator and get the height you need. They include the nylon drift and good instructions, and for $35 you can have a great setup. I’ve done this on 4 or 5 of my pistols and it’s very straightforward.

In fact the standard bar dot rear and Dawson FO front on my P226 is my favorite setup right now.
