I noticed my front sight was no longer visible in low light situations. Sig send me a mailing label and I sent it back today.

I am now carrying my Smith 669 again. I hope the Sig gets back quick.

The Xrays sights on the P365 are a known issue. They crap out on you even when still young. Roll Eyes

On my last remaining 365-the night sight on the front is so dim and dull, I simply ordered my favorite set of night sights, Night Fision, with the bright yellow front sight. Gotta take it to my gunsmith tomorrow and get 'em on.

This is the second 365 with a bad front sight, but I thought perhaps I'd simply gotten a subpar one the first time and replaced it on the other 365.

Then I bought this one (I'm a slow learner, I guess) and the front sight was bad from day one. I'm not about to send it back to Sig to replace it with still another set of X-rays.

While I don't shoot the 365 quite as well as I shoot the 43X, the size of the 365 is so nice for its conceal-ability and its great reliability so I keep one ready to go.

I have a new P365 but no range time yet. I have a right shoulder that must be replaced shortly.
Looking at Night Vision sight sets, I don't know whether I have #6 or #8 sights.
Please give me sight height dimensions so I can measure mine...
Also, what is best choice for sight replacement company, (front sight tritium)?
thanx

I was not aware of this. As much time as I spend here, you would think I would know

I replaced the 365 front sight with the TFO sight. Still glowing brightly.

I've had 4-5 X-ray3 sights go out on me. I didn't rub lube or solvents into them, nor do I place them in ultrasonic cleaners.

If you read reviews at Sig's own site, you'll see many other owners complain of the same happening to them.

https://www.sigsauer.com/x-ray3.html

I have several Sigs w/ X-ray3 sights, so I went through to check their markings.

The ones marked "TG H3" are consistently brighter than the ones w/ different markings. Some of the other markings include "SIG H3" on the front sight and "628" on the rear sights. My XMacro was made in Dec 2023 and has X-ray3s w/ "SIG H3" & "628" on them. I have other Sigs made in 2018-2019 w/ sights marked "TG H3", and they are brighter than the ones on my Macro despite being older.

We know Sig contracts multiple manufacturers for small parts, so I suspect they do the same w/ their NS. "TG" probably is for TruGlo. I have other TruGlo sights, and they are similarly as bright as my "TG" X-ray3s.

I was never impressed with the sights on My Tac Ops, I figured it was due to my aging eyes hence I went with a Holosun optic.

I personally prefer Trijicon bright and toughs, but when a gun comes with “suitable” night sights I don’t swap out. Now after two sets of sig sights dying I’m back to Trijicon.

P365s almost always come w/ #6 front & #8 rear, which deviates from most of their other 9mm handguns that come w/ #8 front & rear. I say "almost", b/c once in a while a Sig technician seems to put on a different height front sight to correct for its POI.

I'm not super picky and have had good luck w/ AmeriGlo, Trijicon, TruGlo, Night Fision, & Meprolight. They offer a lot of little variations in sight design, so pick the design that appeals to you.

While I do appreciate that my P365s come with night sights as standard, I think the X-Ray 3’s leave a lot to be desired. Over the years, the quality has been all over the map and to be perfectly honest, I do not like the sight picture they provide - they seem very, very small to me.

I’ve been seriously considering ripping them out and going with Trijicon HD XR’s. I use those on all of my Glocks and they are worlds better, for me.

I bought a 365 back in early 2020 and the sights still have some life in them. They're definitely not as bright as when they were new. I expected them not to have degraded so much in just barely 5 years.
I've got a P229 with factory night sights and they went dark in 12 years. Which is kind of ridiculous, some won't really start to fade until they're 10 to 12 years old.

I'm surprised to see some many issues. I have 3 handguns with Xray3 sights, and haven't had any problems with them.

A couple of the sets of sights are older (2018ish), and one is brand new (2025). One of the 2018 sets is on my P365.

I don't like them quite as well as some of the aftermarket sight options out there, since they're a little stubbier than most and the front sight isn't quite thin enough for my preference. But they're the best factory night sight option out there that I've seen, and they'll do until they dim significantly and get replaced.

My 2018 Xray3s are still plenty bright, almost as bright as the brand new set. And these 2018s are actually currently brighter than some of my other flavors of nights sights of the same vintage.

Definitely sounds like there are some inconsistencies when it comes to either manufacturing quality control or factory installation practices.

The X-Ray 3’s are junk. My front sight went completely dark within the first 6 months on my P365x. If I decide to replace them, it will be with Trijicon HD XR's as well.

Same here. Mine all work, including some that date back at least 5 years. I actually really like the X-Rays for daytime shooting better than most other brands of night sights. The basically blacked out rear and big green circle on the front post make for an uncluttered, high-viz sight picture that's quick to acquire.

If you like that setup, once those go dim try the Ameriglo Protector/Trooper or Trijicon HD/HDXR sights. Same concept.
