Customized Colt MKIV Series 80 with faux ivory grips
"Tweaked" Charles Daly EFS Field with super curly makore grips
The Colt and Charles Daly also augmented with 400 Cor-Bon conversions.
My son has a Springfield USMC Operator he inherited from his deceased brother and a "frankensmithed" project gun I built on a Brolin P45T frame and P45C slide ( https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...030036634#4030036634 ). Again both in 45ACP and yes he likes Pachmayr grips. This message has been edited. Last edited by: bald1,

My father carried a similar looking 1911 during his 25 year service with the Philippine Constabulary and Philippine National Police. I think he was issued a US military surplus that was given by the US government or purchased from the US government. When he died, his other son inherited the pistol. He is a current PNP officer. I have been looking at GB from time to time for a 1911 similar to this. I specifically want one that have a US Government Property stamping on the receiver. The one I saw commands a bit high price tag.

I just ordered a Tisas Commander in .45 from buds to get back into 1911s since I don't count my 2011s as 1911s. Let's see how it shoots. I left the 1911 world awhile ago. I had a SIG 1911 Ultra .45 and a Ruger SR1911 Commander in 9mm.

The "personally owned-department approved" duty weapon I carried during the last 18 months before I retired from LE. A Nighthawk Custom GRPII (Commander sized 1911 .45 ACP):
Nighthawk Custom T3 that I carry occasionally:
My full sized Les Baer .45 Ultimate Tactical Carry:
My father purchased this 1911 (circa 1918) from a neighbor/friend that was issued it prior to going "Over there" (France) during "The Great War" (WWI) as an officer in the Medical Corps, where he served as a surgeon at a base hospital. The pistol was never fired in anger, but was certainly a symbol of rank. My dad kept this treasure until his passing, when I received it. After I inherited the pistol, I found a history of the captain's unit that contained not just pictures of the base hospital, but even the captain in the operating room theater!

Not sure how to post pics but my WC Colt LW Commander is my favorite and most carried followed by a DW Guardian in 45 and a Springfield TRP when my arthritis isn’t throwing me a curve. Always have a j frame on me regardless…

I wish I still had this one. Sig 1911 XO Rail in .357 Sig. It has a McWilliams and checkered front strap from the factory. Both of which will need added to my Springfield Operator.

This is a Kimber Series 1. It was a friend’s duty gun he was issued as a new deputy sheriff. When they decided to upgrade to Kimber 1911’s, with a rail, I was able to buy it. It shoots very well and the trigger is fantastic (better than any P210, Swiss or German that I’ve ever shot). I’ve thought of having it bead blasted but the honest wear as a duty gun for several years has its own appeal.

These are all great pictures of the wonderful 1911. I used to have 10 or 12 of them but have been reduced to one 24 year old Wilson Combat Classic. I have gone to Sigs and CZs lately and do miss the 1911.

^^^^^ How does the Cabot compare to your other 1911s?

Thanks
I honestly love my two RRA Limited Matches. Kind of old school, but classic. They’re as accurate as 1911’s get.

They're as nice as they come.
As good or better than any of the others. I generally don’t care for Cabot styling, but I like the Nero.
