Any owners of the Cobray M11 9mm?

rainman64Any owners of the Cobray M11 9mm?
I bought mine 37 years ago.
Been a long long time since I pulled it out of the case.
I did a quick field strip to look it over, and glad I did.
The polyurethane buffer pad disintegrated in my hands.
So, I look for a replacement pad.
I was surprised by the amount of companies that make after-market parts for these guns.
I even got a bigger button for the bolt, which I always disliked.
Anyone else replace the buffer pad?
It seems pretty straight forward, just use a punch to knock out the spring retainer pin.

The M11 has experienced quite the renaissance in the last several years, thanks to companies like Lage producing radically different uppers.

Yeah, I had to replace mine. I bought a sheet of neoprene or something and cut a square out of it. LMK if you want some and I'll send you a hunk if I can find it.

rainman64Goodness, I had no idea the SWD M11 had escalated in value like that.
I looked up some used ones on various sites...
Woah!
I bought mine for 250.00 back in the day...

jaker10Got mine in 1986 for $169.00 Me and 2 friends picked up 3 with consecutive serial numbers. I'm the only one that still have one. and I too had to replace my buffer. Came apart while shooting it and the bolt knob came up and locked it up.

bought mine in 1984 for #218 dealer cost, (add $200 for the stamp)
sold in 1995 or so for $3000, someone had to have it, and I had not shot it in years
as an SOT, I have sold 3 or 4 in the past few years at $8K +

rainman64Rogue, you are an evil man!
It led me down a rabbit hole.
Here is my 37 year old rig:
Then I found this:
Adjustable sights, side cocking, and a rail.
Now I have this:

Now you need one of Lage's 31k uppers... 71 round Suomi drums make it even easier to turn your 9mm ammo into smoke, noise, and ear-to-ear grins.

rainman64STOP IT! STOP IT!

gearhoundsI have an SWD M11 sub gun from the mid 90’s. Seeing what class III stuff is bringing, I am seriously tempted to let it go.
