When did all the various major SIG models make their debut?
Let's leave the gazillion variants of the same model out. You know, the Platinum, Rainbow, Elite, Extreme, Scorpion, Tacops, etc...
Focus only on the major models. My research shows the following.

I thought the SIGPRO line was launched in 1998 with the SP2340. Then the SP2009 came in 1999 (9mm in ‘99). Updated in 2002 as SP2022 for the French 20 year contract set to expire in 2022.

My research is similar to BuddyChryst. The SP2340 was inroduced in July 1998, and first reviewed by the "American Rifleman" in January 1999. It was followed by the SP2009 in September 1999. Both were replaced by the SP2022 in late 2003.

The serial number list is showing quite a few 1998 years so going off that 1998.
For some reason i had thought the 245 was around before that but i guess i was wrong.

Had 229 in 40/357 a few months after it hit the lgs. 239 in 40/357, same. Sig Pro, same. Wow it’s been a quarter century now since my first. Time flies.
