Do any of you have a pistol or a revolver that you really want to like....one that you thought about for years before you finally bought it.....only to find out....in your opinion it's "meh" I bought a gen4 G20....bought mags for it years ago, got the grip reduced....put new sites on it....and shot it With Sig ammo....not the hottest but not glorified .40 either.. It shot well...soft and accurate.....Perfect hog hunting pistol I should love this thing....but I don't I tried selling it....still am .....tried trading it in....HA.....that hurt. So here I am ....sitting with an adult beverage thinking....maybe I am not being fair. It's like that pretty and charming girl you date and find yourself going "I need someone different" Do you currently own a handgun you are trying to love?

Yes indeed! I bought a S&W CS9 a while back and like the feel of the pistol and it's capabilities - I just don't shoot it well. A week ago I finally brought my groups into a size that doesn't embarrass me but yesterday at the range I reverted to my old pattern. I don't have this problem with my Sigs, 1911s, or Beretta. Wish I could figure out what's wrong. If I don't, this pistol will have to go away. Jerry

Sig 229 40 and 357 is my "meh" gun. It was supposed to be the "best." Secret service pistol. Passed Ohio State Police trials with flying colors. Known the world over for reliability, smooth operation, and quality. Every time I shoot it I almost hate it. I almost feel that the 226 is a "meh" gun. Once I picked up a friend's G31 and hit everything with ease, I knew that Glocks were my laser guns, and Sigs from then on were just brown plaid boring guns. Nevertheless, I "like" the Sigs because I consider them to be fighting handgun gems. Just not shooting gems, for me at least. Join and Support the NRA

Ruger LCRx and Mark IV in 22LR. I can’t shoot either very well. I want to love them but even 10yards is difficult. Regards, P.

I feel the same about my P229 and P228. I just don’t shoot them anymore. If I feel like DA/SA I always fall back to my Beretta. Not minority enough!

That’s the way I feel about glocks. I’ve had two generations of G19’s. I sold the first one and damned if I didn’t go out and buy another. The thing is, I should love everything about them. Compact, high capacity, lightweight, easy to conceal, sorta accurate, but I don’t. They are clunky and awkward and I have to put a lot of effort into shooting them well. Shooting my Walther P99 or my PPS is almost a zen like experience. I look at where I want the bullet to hit and it does it almost like magic. I keep asking myself why I try to shoot anything else. I guess I’m just a slow learner. Sean ------------------------------------------ Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

I feel the same way about Glocks. There is nothing wrong with them. They just don't point or feel natural to me. I can shoot them accurately but have to work on it. I feel the same way about the BHP that many people love. The trigger reach is too short and ends up on the second digit of my finger. Some pistols are just that way for people.

I feel the same way about any Beretta 92 variant. I like them until I own them ... then, not so much. MPrimo Sigs, Glocks, 1911s, M&Ps ... well, you get the point!

Glock 43 for me, I have had a few (10). I love how they carry, they fit my hand perfectly. I shoot them pretty good (not as good as my 19 or 26, but good). I just don't enjoy shooting them. I've tried to really like them, but I just don't enjoy shooting them... after 50 rounds, I'm done. I even picked up a Vickers 43 - liked the way it looked, thought that this might be the one, nope it is now on consignment at one of my LGS. And yesterday I was at another gun shop picking up some carry ammo and I looked at the used case and there was a Glock 43 - I immediately started to say "maybe one more try". Yep, the Glock 43 is that pistol for me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.

Same here. Have had 2 of them and just can't get myself to like it or even shoot it well. All the other Glocks I've had or have now (19X and 48) are great and I love shooting them and shoot them well. Just not the 43. I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not.

I want to like my CZ P-01. It is a near-perfect combination of size and weight for a CCW, holds 15 rounds (with the chamber loaded) and shoots great. But in the session shown in these older photos, the sharply curved trigger gouged a hole in my finger, left a flap of skin hanging and stung for several days afterwards. After some time I sent it off to CGW for a less-curved trigger and light action polishing. But, while greatly improved, it still has a little "backbite" on recoil after the shot is fired that continues to sting my finger. But no, I spent yet more money on it (CGW again) for night sights. The PCR I had - a delightful gun - never did this, and the P-07 and SIG P320 I have now are comfortable to shoot all day. Its future is in doubt.

I am trying to figure out a new Ruger 1911 10mm. The pistol is super tight. On the first outing I had more FTFs in one range session than I have had in the last 30 years. At least 20 FTFs. I made it through on 2 mags cleanly in 100 rounds. The pistol will not run with Wilson Combat mags and runs somewhat better with Ruger mags. Before you ask - Yes - the pistol was broken down and was run wet. Since then I have been working on the pistol - polishing the feed ramp and rails, but its still so tight that its difficult to rack the slide - and I am 6’1” 230 so I’m not a little guy. I’m going back to the range today. If I can’t get it to run, its going back to Ruger. +

Glocks. I hate them. But, I can shoot the absolute crap out of one. There are a ton of pistols that take a whole lot less work to get the same level of performance out of. The SIG P226 comes to mind. I have to work harder to shoot a Glock well. But, when I am on, bro is on. .75 draws, .17-.18 splits out to about 15. I hate a Glock with a passion. But, the Gen5 is pretty awesome.

SIG SP2022. Bought one, bought a bunch of mags, put Tru Glo TFX Pro sights on it, tried different backstraps, practiced practiced PRACTICED, but couldn't hit anything with it. Determined that the trigger broke too close to the frame for my beat up hands to use. Ended up selling it to my BIL for what I paid for the pistol, so he got a hell of a deal considering he also got the equivalent amount of extras in the deal.

I grew up always shooting revolvers. The grip on Glocks is more similar to that of a revolver, so it comes up naturally and I'm on target. I even have a favorite Glock, though it's a bit long for regular carry. But I prefer sigs, which is a bit frustrating. The grip angle difference means I'm 2/3 of a tick slower with front sight acquisition and target alignment. They're each tools, and they function, so not a major issue, but still... _________________________ NRA Endowment Member _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. Glocks are the outlier when it comes to grip angle - at least among the handguns I own. I have two Glocks - a 19 and a 20. Due to shooting mainly Sigs and HKs, when I shoot Glocks - especially the 19 - my natural draw and point puts me looking well over the top of the rear sights. I don’t want to retrain just for the 5% of the time I devote to shooting Glocks. Every time I take them out, I have to get used to the wonky grip angle again. I shoot the Glocks well, the grip angle thing is really more of an annoyance than anything. I’m usually high with the first mag, then I have to focus to line the sights up. This is natural to me on my Sigs, but not with Glocks. +
