My Beretta PX4 Storm. It would have been easier to buy the M11-A1 sooner which is now my carry gun.

Generally I keep throwing money at them until I finally give up, that way I really take a beating when I sell it.

Ironically: My single most expensive pistol: My Sig P210A Target Frown

It's a beautifully-made handgun and no mistake. Fit, finish, function--everything. Except for the manual safety, for which I have to change my grip significantly to activate, it's as flawless a handgun as ever I could want.

I cannot shoot it well so save my soul.

I'm hoping new grips from Hogue will fix that problem. Otherwise: Much as I love it, it'll have to go.

Yes, a Glock 43 9mm. I just can't seem to get a good grip on it. There just isn't enough girth on the grip. If I grip it like I do my G19, the gun points hard left and when I adjust my grip I don't feel like I have a good handle on it. My groups also suck compared to the G19. I would gladly trade it for a Kahr K9.

Working hard to love my Wilson Combat Elite Professional chambered in .38 Super.

I really, really want to love it, but it is a work in progress.

I shoot my P-220/.38 Super much better.

My "meh" gun is the Sig P226 Combat TB. I relied on the reputation of Sig to satisfy my justification for purchasing this, my first, Sig pistol. Purchased it new, online, from Sig. Paid a pretty price for it.

The design does not satisfy my expectation of "design following function". There are rectangular shapes and angles which serve only a aesthetic appeal, which adds bulk. This appeals to the machismo rather than utility. There is way too much air and open space in the slide and frame. This makes the pistol too bulky.

The radial position of the barrel from the trigger finger is way to high. This adds to difficult second-shot recovery.

The grip is too fat.

This model of the P226 is made for a suppressor but the action of the tilting barrel works directly against the use of any type of extension on the barrel, such as a suppressor.

I love steel. Heavy, solid, high-polish blued steel. These metal alloys that are being used in "metal" guns are not good substitutes for steel. The mass of steel helps negate recoil. The featherweight alloys do not, so the recoil is transferred to your hand, wrist, and arm. Makes it more difficult for subsequent shot recovery.

Cerakote, to me, is just paint. Get away from steel and you must either paint it or anodize it. Sad.

Other than the above, I may learn to love it. I have not sold or traded it yet.

Oh....and I forgot to mention the arc of the trigger is absolutely horrible!!

Regards,
arlen

I bought a Canik TP9SF as a pig hunting sidearm. I figured if it got dropped in the lake I'm only out 4 bills or so. Man it has a nice trigger and is very accurate. The fit of the barrel in the slide is perfect, no rattling at all.

Actually, the 4 bills includes a nice holster, two mags, and a second grip pad.

Glocks.
They are plenty accurate and function flawlessly for me but don’t feel great in the hand and I just can’t get excited about them.

Colt King Cobra. What a piece of junk those are.

Compared to a 686 or Trooper MK III, the King Cobra feels like a pot metal Lorcin.

Made that mistake. Once.

CMMG MK9. 9mm AR pistol that shoots great. Put a SBA4 brace on it. Shoulders nicely, (did I say that?).

It just does nothing for me. It seems like everyone loves AR pattern 9mm SBRs and pistols. I just don’t.

Zig 320 Compact in 9mm. Wanted to really love it, felt good in the hand and the trigger was god. I consistently shot low left with it. If I modified my grip and really paid attention to the trigger pull, I could center my groups on the target but it just didn’t feel natural.

Traded it for a 229 SAO and shot the center out of the target on my first trip to the range.

My most recent was a CZ PCR that I had the full Cajun treatment - fantastic trigger. Went though 3 sets of grips, changed the slide stop to one off of a P01, new sights... it felt incredible.... but the hammer bit the crap out of me every time I shot the thing. I put 1500 rounds down range trying to find a solution, but to no avail. It’s accurate, soft shooting, great size... and now my best friend loves it.

It's like that pretty and charming girl you date and find yourself going "I need someone different"

Lol, for Glock it should read:

It's like that cougar that cooks and puts out something fierce and you find yourself thinking "I hope nobody finds out about this.... But I'm going to be here for a while".

Glocks, any of them. Lightweight, easy to shoot, easy to tear down and clean. Nice reset. Capacity for size. Just never truly enjoy shooting them. Tried for years and years. It makes so much sense on paper, yet falls short for me personally. Glock was it for years, but now there are choices. For years it was true that you will buy a Glock. Now, it may be waning..

For me it’s a Walther PPQ M2 Q5 Match with Vortex Viper.
Everything and everyone tells me I should love it but I just don’t.
I know exactly where the problem is, it just doesn’t feel good in my hand. I have tried all three backstraps but just can’t find the feel I’m looking for.

Mine was the S&W CS45 BUT - I stuck with the gun and modified it, eliminating the problem areas and making it, today, my most carried handgun.

Shooting it was never a problem. The gun is and always has been accurate and reliable. Unusually accurate for such a small gun. The main problem was the factory OEM Hogue grip. It made the little 45 too thick. It did not conceal easily, with that grip. And the mags basepad squeezed my fingers on the abbreviated grip frame. Unpleasantly so.

The gun was exactly what I was looking for in a "retirement" EDC 45. I was frustrated by the features that detracted from its desireable traits - small, aluminum frame, hammer fired, 45acp.

And just as I started thinking of selling it, a young man on the S&W Forum started making cut down Xenoy factory grips, to fit the CS45. PERFECTION! The grips thin it out and make it easier to carry and conceal.

And I found a basepad from my favorite pistol, the similar S&W 4513TSW worked on the CS45 mag and gave me enough room for a full, firm grip.

So, a pistol that I wanted to like, has become one that I love to use. With a bit of work to make it happen. And it was worth it, to me. Regards 18DAI

Glock 43 here. Love my 42’s, but something about the 43 just doesn’t jive as much with me. It’s been 100% though I can’t shoot it as well as I had hoped and it just doesn’t feel like I wished it did.
