The Quiet Man |
I’m actually fine with a TLR7a for my needs. I’m in an urban setting. I need a light that will let me identify a target at close range in a dark building. If I’m outside there’s a ton of ambient light available. I’ve been running a TLR7a for several years now, first as an investigator and then as a field supervisor. It’s been plenty of light when I needed it and never gave me any issues. Once I transitioned to admin the amount of gear I carry on my belt routinely got dramatically smaller. Plenty of days I now carry my 239 instead of the 229R. G19 with a TLR7 is super compact and light. Once we make the transition to the new weapons I may go that route. Given my current job role though I don’t want the big lunch box of a holster for both a RDS and a Surefire X300 on my hip. Purely a matter of personal preference, and shockingly enough they are looking at personal preferences when it comes to the new policy. Has to be a first. Now if I had one gripe with the 47 it would be that it just looks weird. Glocks are supposed to look like Glocks. The 47 looks like a Glock 19 with a bad overbite. I’m sure it will grow on me. | |||
