I was looking at putting a Holosun on my 43x but I was reading another thread that mentioned the Osight. So, I got to looking at them. Enclosed, green dot, shake awake, 6 moa, $169.

This 43x is my main off duty carry. It will not have a light attached as the frame is an early one with no rail.

Any thoughts or suggestions before I order?

I have been running one of their SE and C models for 6 months or so (on competition and training pistols). I am hopeful that they have the durability of a Holosun, Vortex, etc.
Features, benefits, battery life, etc. seem good.

I’ll need another 6 months or so of use before I feel confident enough to switch the SE to my daily carry.

Sorry for the wishy/washy answer but they are too new for me to trust for daily carry.

Thank you, Pete. I understand it hasn't been long enough for you to fully vet your sight. I value everyone's thoughts here.

Just for the price and features it seems too good to be true. I guess worst case scenario I can get another sight or use Osight's warranty if anything goes wrong.

It may be. Osight wants their piece of the market and I think they are doing the right things.
It’s also my hope that they have copied the known good optics of say, Holosun and Vortex. I’m also hoping they are manufacturing them with the same proven components as the others. Battery life, durability etc of all pistol optics seem to be at a point where they are equally or more reliable than the pistols they mount to. The prices of all the other non made US optics are dropping fast and I hope it continues.

I've been testing a C since it released with no issues so far. Dropped the gun a few times, banged it against doorways and walls. Zero is holding. But the window is just too big for me? Is that a thing? I'm so used to the RMR sized and smaller windows.

I'm thinking of picking up an enclosed SE 2moa.

I don’t know anything about the Osight.

I have the Holosun EPS Carry on my 43X with Shield mags. This is my primary off duty and has been for about two years now.

I’m really enjoying the Holosun! It’s been knocked around, dropped, beat and banged up, and I don’t know how many rounds, heat and cold.
It just works.

I just looked at the Osight C model. It reminds me of the Holosun Comp but for micros.

All of my other pistols and SBR have Holosuns. But, being enclosed and green, the price is hard to beat. Seems like people have been using them and been happy with them. They seem tough and reliable.

We have a city captain who tests equipment and he told me a couple of years ago that he has a couple of Holosuns that he has beat the crap out of them and they keep on working.

I have had to use Holosun's warranty twice now. No issues. I contacted them and received new units. They sent me mailing labels for the faulty units.

I used to worry about being made in China but at the end of the day I want something that works, is reliable and affordable. I have also always wondered if truth be known, all the electronics in trijicon are also made in china, then assembled here in the states. I feel as if perhaps all the guts of any optic are actually made in china.

I've had an Osight SE on a 43x that I've been carrying pretty regularly for about 4 months. I'm not doing any torture testing, but I'm carrying it for EVERYTHING...including cutting firewood (a nasty, dirty, sweaty activity), working on cars, sledding in the snow, boating, hiking, etc. So far it's been 100%. I'm not sure if that's enough to officially endorse it yet, but I've personally become pretty confident in it.

From a feature set, design usability, and perceived quality I actually like it more than any other optic I own, which includes Holosuns, Sigs, and an RMR. They put a lot of thought into it. It fits well on the little slimline pistols, it's curved in all the right places for comfortable carry, the brightness buttons are easy to actuate when you want to, but I've never had them get unintentionally pressed like some other optics, and the windage and elevation adjustments have good, positive clicks.

For all I know it may die tomorrow, in which case my opinion might change. Reliability trumps everything else. But so far so good.

Made in China, yes, but they’re QC’ed and distributed out of Phoenix. Some of the guys who work for the company are active in the local USPSA community, and some of my friends have talked with them and have positive things to say. Personally, I think the Osight SE is a far better value than any Holosun I’ve owned. After I cracked the lens on a 403 and Holosun told me they don’t repair optics and I was shit out of luck, it kind of soured me on them a little. The reticle in my Osights have been far cleaner and crisper than any Holosun I’ve owned or looked through. The 2MOA dot is actually defined for me, despite astigmatism. I dunno how they’re pulling it off, but I’ll take it.

Great info, Guys! Thank you!

92, if it wouldn't be to much to ask, would you post a pic looking down the slide? I thought the SE had some over hang on the 43x doesn't it doesn't look like that is the case. If you get time. TIA!

Here's a couple of angles. The is a small amount of overhang, but not enough that I notice. The overhang is less than the thickness of the Kydex sweat shield on my holster:

I have several Holosuns including their top models: 509T, 508T, EPS. I recently bought an Osight SE to try, b/c I agree w/ Smudge. Their glass & reticle is clearer & crisper than on any of my Holosuns.

I have one on my Shield Plus and would feel quite comfortable buying another. Granted, it will take a while to vet these for reliability, but I think they're going to be in it for the long haul.

My instructor turned me on to them. I've got them on a shortlist for my 365. He said a bunch of competitors he's shooting with are using Osights and they are holding up really well.

That's good enough for me.

I ordered the SE in green 6 MOA. This will be my first enclosed optic. But, being my off-duty gun it'll get banged up quite a bit. It goes everywhere with me. So, I'm excited about it!
