I'd be curious about this as well. I believe they pitched it as working for some people much in the way green does. Theres different types of colorblindness so I wonder if theres different dots for each type or something?

I have green and red and dont have a particular preference. I have an astygmatism.

Another vote for the Holosun 507Comp in green. Have it on my X5 and love it.

Also anxious to hear about the GOLD dot.

I have more experience with red but I slightly prefer green. Seems to show up better.

Older eyes (particularly those with some level of cataracts) are prone to having red really starburst. I went through this with my bow sight pins several years ago and I definitely notice it on my red dots. I did some digging online and found multiple sources suggesting that this didn't happen with green. They were right.

I don’t know if I would see much difference in general, I have green Holosun SCS on my P365XL CCW and love it, but have an Aimpoint PRO red dot on my main AR and love it. I’ve shot red dot on pistol too without issue. I think, like others said, red is easier to pick up against foliage VS green, however most of my outdoor shooting is backed by brown/tan dirt haha.

3 red, 3 green.
The Eotech on my S&W Competitor is red because that was the only choice as that was on sale at less than a Holosun. The Athlon on my Glock 44, it was polymer and cheap enough. My G17,well that’s what came on it, a used gun that I couldn’t say no to, 250.00 with a ported barrel and slide from Lone Wolf.

Both my P365’s and my S&W Victory have Holosun 407K greens.

I started out with red reticles on Eotechs and Aimpoints on my rifles 20 years ago. I’m just used to red so I went with red on my pistol optics.

With my astigmatism I have to go with red. I do get some starbursting with red but with green it's insane.

Fun fact (for me at least). In the last year I've gotten my blood pressure more under control, lost some weight and tried to reduce my stress. That has actually helped reduce the starburst effect of red dots for me, and made night driving better.

I have an astigmatism, and I’ve heard from “experts” that green is the best, but another one said green is the worst.

For me, it’s about the individual dot. I know for sure that for my eyes, the 1 MOA Trijicon RMR HD is the answer for pistols. Nothing else has come close to the clarity of that dot for me.
