I'm excited to see the results. Your GGI pistols had the best triggers I've ever had the pleasure of shooting.

Everything I have sent to him has returned as close to perfect as can be!

Several of us the DFW area that shoot and train together have used Robert Burke for a wide range of services. We couldn't be more pleased, communications are top drawer, and delivery times as promised. Plus just a real down to earth and decent person especially if you get visit him in his shop.

OH MY ..... the SA is 2 1/4 lbs. The reset is so little that I am afraid of really putting it through its paces at the range as I might be accused of having a full auto. Big Grin

Glad to read so many good and positive things about Robert Burke. I'd been flip-floppin on who and where to send a recently purchased used P220 Legion (10mm) too. We have a local gun shop (Druy's) the employs a slew of gunsmiths, always do great work and the place is owned by 3rd generation smithy, but his lead times are crazy, and I don't like the idea of shipping my pistol across multiple states, especially if there's a master pistolsmith who specializes in Sig's right here in my home state.

I own a couple of older Sigs (amoung a few other types Roll Eyes, gotta check for the wife); one purchased in the late 70's (226, 9mm) and the other from early 90's (229 .357/.40cal). Always thought they were exceptional pistols for being factory new right-of-of-the-box. Because of my past sig experience I didn't hesitate on buying a minty looking, used P220 (Legion) from a GunBroker seller/individual. It's the older version of the Legion w/o the milling for the optics, which I perfer. Was also considering a CZ Kodiak, but opt'ed for the Sig because it was less money and it won't break my heart if she gets a little road rash from regular everyday use. I want this one for a ranch gun, truck gun and carry-around gun during archery season.

When I purchased this pistol I did not anticipate wanting, let along having to send it off for custom work done, but she feels that bad. She's crude compared to my older Sigs. Suspect this is why the Seller put it up for sale on GunBroker, because the pistol is barely used, no wear marks, slide marks nothing what so ever, she literally looks like brand new and right out of the box, which I have and even the factory box/pistol case all look new. The slides are perfect. But this Sig has what I consider an excessive amount of slop in the trigger, the slide isn't a smooth as I think it should be, pluse it's a real biach to release the slide and I hate the hammer. I recently learned (after the fact) that Sig no longer manuf. pistols in Germany... not sure if this has anything to do with the difference, but I'm a bit old fashion or maybe stupid in believing the German's just build things better.

This Sig is going to Mr. Robert Burke... and you guys were correct. He answer's his own phone, comes across as being down to earth and takes the time to discuss the mod's he can perform. I joined this forum to learn about Sig's and to look for a quality Sig smithy and believe I found one in my back yard; thank you.

Robert Burke all the way. He did my 227, 239, M11 A1 and a couple of 232's. He's quick and he's not bashful about picking up the phone and having a proper conversation about your pistol. Best smith I've ever worked with and his prices are reasonable for the value received.

An older thread but worth the endorsement.

I've also had multiple SIGs go through Robert Burke's shop. Very happy with the results. His lead times were as laid out on his website, and he called if there were any suggestions he had on a pistol.

Another nice detail is shipping is handled through his account which made things a lot simpler.

Robert worked on several guns for me and the results were always excellent. And, as has been said he’s a stand up, good guy.

I sent a P228 to SIG. It came back with a 19lb trigger pull. I had to have our own Chris O. fix SIG's work.

Old thread, but bears repeating.

If you just want ok work, go with factory AEP.

If you want exceptional action, go with Robert. Additionally, since he's certified SIG armorer, his work does not void your SIG warranty. Another plus is, his work warranty is transferable to the next owner.

For those that have sent their pistol to Mr. Burke, did you use the FedEx shipping option from his website or go through your FFL?

Use the FedEx ship option from him. The cost is for round trip shipping. If you use your FFL, it's going to be more expensive, since you have to pay twice, once to ship out, and once to have him ship back to your FFL. Plus, you'll have to pay for the FFL transfer fee twice on your end.

Thanks 12131.

I assumed that that would be the way to go but still had a concern about using the FedEx option due to problems others here have had trying to ship firearms and ammo. through the various carriers.

A couple of questions:

- Can I bring the boxed pistol to a place like PostNet (ships using FedEx) or does it need to be given to a FedEx facility?

- Is the shipment insured using the FedEx option from Burke?

Thanks in advance!

Edit to add:

Answers to the questions above would be welcome from anyone with experience of this shipping option.
