We were not issued sidearms, had to furnish our own. Most carried a S&W Model 10 or 15, I carried a model 15 until we got a chance to purchase a Model 66. I got one and carried that. Still have both.

Best issued in the wheelgun era was my S&W 686 (4"). I later carried a personal S&W 27 because it was large and cool.

In the semiauto era, my issued P229 in .357SIG.

Ive had a H&K P2000 for 12 years now. I've not had 1 problem with it. It's a good gun. We are going to Glocks in 9mm real soon and I'm looking forward to getting it. My favorite though was a 226 in.40 that I owned. I sold it and have regretted it ever since. I just haven't gotten around to replacing it yet.
