Hideous! Aesthetic trainwrecks. Berettas should be stylish. OOOOH! I know! Put a bigger RDS on it! Damn!

I really don't get this obsession to put RDS on pistols and a tiny pocket pistol that is meant for arms-length-distance shooting to boot. A relative showed me his RDS pistol over Christmas and I realized that it creates a tunnel vison of sorts in no time as all you are concentrating on is that little red dot and nothing else. Really bad IMO in a defensive pistol.

The far right in the thumbnail isn't terrible I suppose. The other 2 are eyesores, for sure. Edit: Partially retracting my 'not bad' for the trigger. This message has been edited. Last edited by: P250UA5, The Enemy's gate is down.

Yeah, that's bad. Real bad. And it makes no sense. ETA - watching the video, the one with the comp and an extended mag was just the engineers screwing around, and it's not a production piece. I can kinda appreciate the meme vale that they were going for on that one...but I still don't see the point of an RDS on the production guns.

The one in the middle could use a viagra. This is stupid. Look I like guns, I am fine with weird or different but really optics on a gun that is…….well the size of the optic. There a big call for one of these suppressed? I mean I guess if you are trying to prison wallet your way to assassinate a dignitary or rival spy……in a movie but?????? Yeah this even crosses my, albeit loose, threshold for weird and useless. "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

Could be worse... You've seen the 80X. They took a beautiful gun(the 81/84) with sleek, sexy lines and turned it into RoboCop's gun... Beretta has proven time and time again they have no idea what gun buyers actually want. Not to mention the paragraphs of text they always seem to add to each side of their slides or anywhere else they can squeeze it.

Upon further review, I have a problem. Where am I supposed to attach my light? I mean I for one feel like a white light is required to conclusively identify threats when I am using my .32 caliber, extended magazine, suppressed, optic ready, pocket gun for home defense. Hopefully the aftermarket will come up with something. "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

That’s not how you use a red dot.

Supposedly at the Shot Show, they were described as mini-race guns. I don't get the fascination with them looking like this. I can't believe Beretta spent time and money making these.

And here I was, thinking these are supposed to be pocket pistols. This kind of stupid shit, I've come to expect it as routine from some other manufacturers, but Beretta should stay away from this nonsense. That's a compliment.

I don't exactly get how one is supposed to load it with an optic? There doesn't look like enough room there. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

There's an extensive thread on the subject. You'll find all you'll want to know in it.

The stupid cycle is now complete with these gun makers. First they had full-size guns. Then, they made them more compact for easier carry. Then, cc became the rage, so, they managed to make these hi-cap subcompacts, then micro-compacts. But, not satisfied with success, they now start attaching all kinds of shit on these pocket guns, making them bigger... Q

Just watched the TFB video. The 30x is an update to the ‘cat series. Lowered cost with a redesign for CNC economy. The trigger is reportedly massively improved. And the styling is updated to the more modern 92 series and the 80x. The red dot mount fits in the sight dovetail, a bit silly to highlight. The compensated setup was said to be a “we did it for fun” thing.
You focus on the target, not the dot.

I swear I had something for this |
Focus your eyes on the target and overlay the dot on the target instead of focusing your eyes and the back of your pistol with your target out of focus.

Did he mention if they improved the durability over the previous version? If so, I actually like what they've done with the new mag release and improved trigger. I'd like to see the base version 30X in black. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.
