Well...I suppose that the skeletonized trigger looks kind of okay. I guess.

I'll wager a WAG that boredom is a thing down in the Beretta design department.

Oooohhhh, I really want Taurus or Beretta to make a copy of the Robocop AutoNine.

These 30x are kinda cute but not overly practical I think.

The original 3032 Tomcats with the smaller/thinner slides made sense in principle, but failed miserably in design. I have the Alleycat version (a Beretta Tomcat with Tritium front sight) and the frame cracked years ago. It is small enough for pocket carry but big enough to shoot well. Ammo capacity isn't up to par with modern guns, but it was a suitable alternative for a J frame S&W.

Beretta started putting much heavier and thicker slides on the Tomcat to alleviate frame cracking to some extent, but it made the gun much less carry-able without completely eliminating the cracked frame problem. The 30X looks like it still has the chunky slide of the later Tomcats.

I still have my cracked frame Alleycat. I figured I had nothing to lose so I spent some time filing out the support that cracked. It was a very thin piece of the aluminum frame just under the barrel on the right side that I guess kept the frame from flexing when shooting. I wouldn't be surprised if they just eliminated it in the 30X.

My 3032 functions fine without the support, but I don't think I would ever trust it for self defense. It doesn't get much range time anymore as .32ACP prices have been ludicrous and I don't reload this caliber.

All the Beretta guys on the other forum pretty much recommend that approach which has led to frustration with Beretta. The area that cracks isn't a structural requirement. The common theme is shoot it until it cracks then remove the excess cracked material. Those who do that continue shooting and I have never heard of an issue. It makes everyone question why Beretta doesn't remove this area to begin with.
