Pachmayr grips are what I prefer on my S&W revolvers and back when revolvers were standard issue for the police they were what you would see on nearly every cops sidearm. In short they feel fantastic and provide more than enough control for the hottest Magnums you can find. Unfortunately last time I checked the Pachmayr web site didn't have any of the classic revolver grips listed. I've stopped counting.

Woohoo ! ! ! Just checked the Lyman site (who purchased Pachmayr) and the Grippers were listed. Seems Lyman got a bit of schooling and decided to bring back a Classic. I've stopped counting.

I have a couple of older sets of Pachmayrs that I really like, but I've not had much luck with the new production ones. The last couple of sets I bought did not fit properly and had big gaps where the panels came together. Not only were they ugly, but also uncomfortable.

On my 67 at about 1 o’clock are those Grippers? I got that gun when I was 14 or 15, so 40+ years ago. I think I read so much Bob Milek (?) that I wanted that gun and then the blued 17 which matches it. The gun came with the skinny wood grips which sucked. I knew nothing of Tyler T grips as a teenager so I did the next best thing. Pachmyrs.

pedropcola Which LGS was it? I'm over in Gulf Breeze and was wondering if it was one close by that I haven't checked out yet. "Blessed is he who when facing his own demise, thinks only of his front sight.” Malo periculosam, libertatem quam quietam servitutem Montani Semper Liberi

Navyshooter, my forum call sign was from when I was instructing at NAS (VT4). My Marine buddy insisted it was dumb to use your name on an email hence pedropcola. Of course his email is his name.com. Duh. The lgs I bought from is near where I live now, Daytona Beach. If you ever get this way it's called Florida Gun Exchange. It is perhaps the best gun shop I have ever been in. Worth a visit.

Not to further the thread drift, but I've always been kind of surprised by the lack of gun store options in a city the size of Pensacola. We have family there and visit a couple of times a year, and I always try to hit up the local shops just because. My favorite so far that I've found is Uber's off of Fairfield, as they tend to have a lot of surplus and used inventory, but most of the other places I've found are your basic strip-mall style sporting goods shops with the latest and greatest plastic but not a lot of old stuff. My little rural community in Indiana has better options than a city of 50k. Maybe I'm missing something, so if anybody does know of some well stocked old-school shops in the area, I'd love to hear about them.

FGE is a good LGS, spent quite a bit of time there, always a great selection and plenty of used guns. Always found a ton of used guns at Shoot-Straight with 7 locations, but now they hoard them all onto Gun Broker and to the Gun Shows that Kalied runs since he bought that operation. Can't blame them for putting them on Gun Broker, you open up the market to nationwide for sales, and prices may be higher or you find the one guy that has to have that gun. Think a lot of bigger LGS are selling firearms on Gun Broker, especially when things are in tight supply. Shoot Straight Online GB Listings Pedropcola, Have you been over to AAA Pawn in Deland, its worth a trip just to check out all the firearms from new to collectable plus being a pawn shop there is quite a bit there to see. It's almost a museum level place with all the historical and different firearms, you'll find something for everything there. https://aaagunandpawnstore.com/

Oooooh, no I have not. I will now though. Thanks for the tip. Plus Deland has a Crumble cookie store. 2 birds. Those 66-1’s are sweet. I will be looking for another 66. They thrive as pairs or so I’ve been told. As for Pensacola, it is a redneck/military/good old boy town that should have great gun stores. Alas it does not. It used to be better, not great but better. Now it’s Academy or nothing. Yuk.This message has been edited. Last edited by: pedropcola,

S&W could own my bank account if they just started making these again. I looked through the LGS counter today and the new S&W predominantly look like crap compared to these.

Agreed, I have no interest in anything being made now. I hate the lock and refuse to own one. JEREMIAH 33:3
