AFAIC, yes, it is, RDS or not. It sticks way out there on a G19.

I have to agree, the x300 looks and fits nicely on a G34 but looks silly on a G19. I’m a bog fan of the TLR7 sized light on a G19.

Duty use? Depends on the duty. For plain clothes? Yeah it’s a little big. For uniformed services? It’s just right.

Damn that light looks huge on that Glock 17 Para. Thanks for the visual aid.

yes.

Really isn’t that big a deal. I carried a 19 for a couple years out of appendix. You know how active being on a task force is. I only had to recharge the battery every few weeks. If the battery went down, I replaced it with a spare 123. The 7A worked well for interior searches. Outside, in any kind of fog or rain the x300 rules supreme. I can tell a difference on really humid nights.

To big?
Yeah, sticks out like a sore thumb.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s an awesome light, but just too damn big for medium or small frame guns like a G-19.

Im using a SureFire XCL: Not that big of a profile, and still bright.

https://www.surefire.com/xc1-c-weaponlight/

Streamlight has some smaller profile ones too.

I just don’t know about holster availability for some of the models.
If it’s a duty gun, holster availability is a big issue.

Nope. I got one guy with a G45 with a Surefire. Not bad for duty use. I know my TLR-7HLX fit fine in my holster meant for the TLR-1.

I'm using the TLR-1HLX now with the rechargeable batteries. So far so good.

TLR1-HL likely a better choice size wise. I just like Surefire stuff quite a bit and am starting to gravitate back that way Since Cloud Defensive seems to be in shambles internally I won’t be buying anymore.
And who knows if we’ll ever see the EPL.

I identify with this as well. I just kind of prefer surefire’s means of actuation. I’ve been issued and carried the Surefire X300, the Streamlight TLR 7 and the Streamlight TLR 1. I would have no problem using and carrying any of them, and certainly from a size perspective the TLR 7 was definitely more appropriate for some applications than others, but for a duty type application, a Surefire would tend to be my first choice. To me, their push actuation is the most natural and everything just seemed to fit me the best.

the new TLR1HLX, you can push the button for activation. It's a weird button that can do push in, or press down.

I picked up a TLR1 HL for $130. I did not really want to spend the nearly $100 extra for the X and don’t need 1500 lumens.

I did not know that. Thank you for the info, that may mean I’ll memes to pick up a TLR1HLX sooner than later. Thanks again

For duty use, size is secondary and performance is primary. The X300 with a DG switch is hard to beat for that application.
