I found this today locally. Date code shows 1997, I believe. They are out there every once in a while. I like the two-dot sights and two-tone.
It has the manual but no test target.
What is the difference between two-tone and stainless? Are the stainless ones going to be marked "ST" on the slide? I had a P220 marked "ST" one time. I have never been sure on that if someone knows.
I took these just after shooting it and it does well.
Very nice! Sig never made any stainless P225's. Your slide will either be electroless nickel or hard chrome, depending on if it was factory or aftermarket. Sort of looks like hard chrome to me. I'm not an expert on the earlier two tone Sigs but if they were factory TT it was usually the slide and controls. Regardless that is a clean example of a P225. They are sweet pistols, enjoy!
Some of the early stainless P220's were marked "P220ST", later after Sig stopped using the carbon slides and went to stainless only it was dropped.
I dont know the exact time frame for when Sig stopped doing the controls on the 2 tone models. Big mistake if you ask me, by far my most favorite of the Sig variants is the older 2 tone guns.

Someone had the slide plated. That's a folded, carbon steel slide. There's no such thing as a stainless P225, unless they made some with that P225 reissue, which is different enough that it should have been given its own model number. All true P225s have an alloy frame and a folded, carbon steel slide.
BTW, the P225 you see on our home page and in the forum header is M640888, K-Kote and Siglites. Your pistol is M640948. Your pistol and mine probably came into the US in the same shipment. I bought mine from the late Doc Avery in December, 1998.
I just pulled photographs I took of one I owned a year or probably more ago, and I see the difference between this one and my present one: note how this earlier one has the controls plated. From what you all are explaining this earlier gun was maybe factory?
I sold this earlier one to a member at a time when I had to downsize.. Fortunate member!
I do not have any pictures of the date code on the earlier one, but it looks like it was made in 1995 by serial number, using our site's serial number listing:
So the earlier one was about two years earlier than the one I bought today. Note the grips look identical and the earlier one was in about the same condition and had little wear as I remember.

^^^Yes, me too!^^^ Although I felt it would not be my place to ask about it. BTW, Parabellum, in 1993 I bought a Walther P4 from Doc Avery. He always had an extensive line of handguns for sale in SHOTGUN NEWS or GUNLIST which is where I found that gem.
