I have seen a lot of recent topics about S&W's current customer satisfaction and quality control which has be hesitant, but I really think that this gun would be good for me for warmer weather carry. Anyone love/hate theirs? ___________________________________________ Life Member NRA & Washington Arms Collectors Mistake not my current state of joshing gentle peevishness for the awesome and terrible majesty of the towering seas of ire that are themselves the milquetoast shallows fringing my vast oceans of wrath. Seems to be a popular choice. I carry an LCP and rented a BodyGuard 2.0 at the range. I found I shot the LCP better despite its awful trigger. I'm passing on the 2.0 purchase. This was first day out with the Beretta 84BB and the RXM. The P226 was DAO, that I've since converted to DA/SA. The LCP from years ago. The only 2 pistols of these I still own is the LCP and G19.

I have one, do not enjoy shooting it, but I bought it for pocket carry and it does that well. It shoots fine, just not enjoyable. ________________________ "Don't mistake activity for achievement." John Wooden, "Wooden on Leadership"

I got mine about a year ago, and it ran great once I centered the rear sight. Ran federal FMJ, Syntech & Hornady Critical Duty without hesitation. Aside from minor slide bite from the very high grip, it has been a great shooter, much more comfortable than my LCP II, which this replaced as my "always in my pocket" gun. It lives in a Vedder Pocket Locker (curved, no thumb press), and disappears in my shorts & wind pant pocket. _____________________________________ P220, P225, P226, P228, P229 Legion, P230, P230SL, P239, 38H, P365, P365 faux Legion, M17X, M17 Full, M18, P210 Standard, P210 Carry Custom Works, SP2022

I tried one once, then had to buy it. Shoots for me like a mic bigger pistol. Ran a couple hundred through it and never looked back. Took a CCW class with it. 400 rounds in a day. I was shooting along with guys running 365’s of every manifestation and only fell short at the 60 yard mark. I can live with that. In the winter I still mainly pack my 365, but in the summer the Bodyguard 2.0 wins.

Have had one for about 6 months. Hundreds of rounds, ball and defensive, without issue. My sights were off from the factory, but once i fixed those it has been accurate. Very comfortable to shoot compared to other offerings in its category. It is the pocket gun i throw in the shorts for quick trips without hesitation. "No more 'I have to go to the bathroom'. The brand specific forum has dozens of complaints on the pistol. You may want to peruse that forum for information. ------- Trying to simplify my life...

If you want a small pocket .380 that shoots surprisingly soft and is a good little gun, I'd recommend a Kahr CW380 or P380. The stock triggers are SOOOOO good on these, unlike most other small guns with awful triggers. I had one for a while before upgrading to the 9mm version, the CM9

I can't recommend the Bodyguard 2.0 enough. It is a fantastic little pistol that shoots like a much bigger firearm. I carried a P238 on duty in an ankle holster for the past 14 years, but the day I got the VG 2.0, the Sig was out. Smith and Wesson has been absolutely killing it with new designs. The metal framed M&P is fantastic, and I just picked up a Shield X that is likely going to replace my G48 as a carry gun. Of my 3 new S&W pistols, I have about 4k rounds with zero malfunctions. That's crazy to me. So go for it, you won't be disappointed on the BG 2.0!

I ended up with 4 of these I like them so well. I previously owned the original Bodyguard. I have shot LCP’s never owned one. I had to send one back to the factory. It was quick and easy and no issue since. It had a VERY stiff manual safety. (I have a pair of MS and a pair of non MS) In an attempt to make it looser I sat there over the span of a couple days actuating it on and off. It worked. It became just about perfect. Then over the span of a couple months it continued getting lighter to the point I could bang it on my palm and disengage the safety. Mind you it still functioned properly it just really wasn’t a safety version anymore. Sent it in got it back quick been fine since. All the internet reports I’ve read center around a couple issues. I’ve seen all the issues first hand and if you aren’t a retard they aren’t really issues. Every single one of these I have shot (friends as well as mine) shoot left out of the box. Every single one. The dovetails on this tiny gun are tiny. I find you have to drift the front and rear a tiny bit (obviously in opposite directions) to center the POI. If you just drift the rear it looks “off”. So drift them both a tiny amount. They are tiny. Some of the mag followers have a tiny bit of flashing that goes through a hole in the mag body when loading the first few rounds. You only notice during loading. Sometimes an aggressive push will cut off the offending piece or a nail clipper will do the job as well. It is a tiny bit, like 1/8 inch maybe. Stupid easy fix. The recoil spring assembly. It will sometimes go into place easily and sometimes it won’t at all. They need to fix this. However, once guys started recognizing what was happening the “fix” takes 2 seconds and it works every time. If anyone can’t find it I can walk you through it. It takes way longer to type out than to actually do it. I find the BG2.0 is better in every way than any of the LCP variants. Flush fit 10+1 with a 12 rounder as a spare. Disappears on your belt and I can tear the center out of any target from 15 yards and in. (I don’t really shoot it past that, tiny sights bad eyes 25 yards is me the problem not the gun)

These just made the CA Roster and I have my name on a list to get one when they show. I purchased an LCP Max which has been my main carry since January that I’m much happier with over my Glock 42 capacity wise. I’ve had the Glock since it was introduced. I never thought the BG would make the roster, otherwise I’d have not purchased the Ruger. Oh well I guess I’ll keep both and possibly sell the Glock.

You will love it. The sights are small but they are very good. Tritium dot with a yellow hi vis outer ring, serrated, dovetails. I struggle to think there are many UNBIASED opinions that prefer shooting an LCP variant over these. This gun won many made up marketing awards (lol) but in reality they deserved them. This gun is easily best in class and it’s not close. There will be the Ruger guy jumping in and disagreeing but if you judge them cold it’s easy to pick a winner.

The one I shot was amazing. I think you'll probably love it. The LCP is excellent for the money but the Bodyguard 2.0 is a whole other level of awesome. --------------------------- My hovercraft is full of eels.

I Have an LCP max and really like it, I don't even feel it in my pocket in the ruger holster. I'd find a fun store that has both, if you can and compare the 2.

Thanks all for the input. I'll see if I can rent one locally and try it out. ___________________________________________ Life Member NRA & Washington Arms Collectors Mistake not my current state of joshing gentle peevishness for the awesome and terrible majesty of the towering seas of ire that are themselves the milquetoast shallows fringing my vast oceans of wrath. My wife got one and then when the comped version came, out I got that one. When I got home, wife took the comped model and I got the standard model. Either way, they are great guns and handle recoil really well.

The LCP Max is a great gun, but the BG 2.0 surpasses it in every way except price. I've experienced the same issues pedropcola mentioned, so if they bother you, you've had fair warning. BG 2.0 is the smallest gun in my carry rotation.

The important part is every one of those issues has a simple fix. Like simple Jack simple.

I've had one for a couple of years or so-replaced the LCP Max I had. The Max was very reliable, smaller thnan the Smith, but the recoil on these old arthritic hands was simply no fun. The felt recoil on the 2.0 is much less noticable, IMO. And, so far (about 800 rounds), absolutely reliable. Bob

I have one. Its the best in its class. It still kinda sucks. Its too big for pocket carry. The original Ruger LCP fits in all pockets. The new Bodyguard is tight in most pants I have tried. Its more of a belt gun. The sights suck. You have to drift the rear sight off to work on the striker?? What??!! The magazines are incredible tight. Tighter than any other gun in my large safe. I consider them negative one mags (9 and 11 round capacity) Its shootable. Its accurate enough. It has good capacity. If you need a tiny belt gun, its top of its class. I think a P365 on the belt is superior. I think a J-frame that actually fits in your pocket, is a superior POCKET gun to this new Bodyguard. ______________________________________________________ Often times a very small man can cast a very large shadow
