Primary Arms has released its first US made Red Dot! Aimpoint releases new Red Dot with a proprietary cut only available from Glock
I hope the PA does well and like the idea but the price is stout.
While I like the idea. I have no interest in a Glock nor do I see any other optic makers adopting the ACUT. Some firearms manufacturers may adopt the cut if the optic takes off (which I doubt) and Aimpoints deal with Glock will allow it. Maybe some aftermarket folks will start ACUTs for other manufactures.
I sure wish some sort of industry standard would come along.
I currently only have an RMR as I am afraid to really get another dot because there are so many options. I had an old 320 with no factory cut milled for the RMR which I like just alright. A plate and an ACRO may be in its future but that’s creeping at $600.

Good for PA for taking the risk, but they're going to have quite the uphill battle establishing themselves as competitive with the known and proven duty-rated optics at their $700+ price point.

Exactly. I guess the plates ain't cheap. PA makes some good stuff and I have a couple of their Prism sights but at the price point, it's gonna be a tough sell.

So what are the differences between an Acro P2 and the COA? The only thing obvious is that it sits lower in the slide.
I like the idea of the outer ring on the PA sight.

Btw, does anyone know what the heck COA stands for? I read Aimpoint's big hoopla email release, and nowhere does it say what it is.

Wow, $700ish? I'm just going to see if work will get me an RMR-HD or RCR this year. Still waiting for the chief to retire so the next chief will make optics optional. I'm getting old, but still prefer irons.
What does Primary Arms mean by RMR-A and RMR-B?

Supposedly not just assembled in the US but all components made in the US as well. Where as the Sig Romeo X Enclosed is only assembled in the US.
The blurb I read did not say whether that was street price or MSRP.
The ACRO MSRP is $675 and easily had for $550 and I have seen them on sale for $500. RMR-HD MSRP is $1019 and they street around $700. So there is a chance street price will be lower.

I’m actually rather intrigued by this optic and may give one a try. The new Aimpoint optic looks pretty cool as well. I want to support American manufacturing, and I have enjoyed my buying experiences with Primary Arms, so I could definitely see this being my first pistol red dot. I’m not sure that it would work with my Staccato P, it maybe I’ll try one of these when I pick up a P320, or maybe something else altogether. I’m definitely intrigued by both optics and actually pretty excited about the Primary Arms.

If PA comes out with something like the Holosun 510C for my AR I'll definitely consider it. I'd love to replace the Chinese-made optic on my otherwise-all-American-made rifle with an American-made optic.

The PA dot mounts really low, but the adapter plates don’t look that robust. It will be interesting to see how they hold up.

Trijicon's stuff lists for around there MSRP as well. I'm really excited to see PA come out with this. I hope other mfgs take up the call to build US-sourced and US-made stuff. It's a good thing.
If nothing else it's a chance for people who have always asked for US-made red dots to put their money where their mouth is.

Compact Optimized Aimpoint?
It's been almost 3 years with my RMR at work with no issues. Even with rain and snow. I'm not going to bother trying to get an enclosed optic anymore for it. I'm probably going to bite the bullet and get the RMR-HD.
