P210A - SAO
Shadow 2 - DA/SA

Which action do you prefer?

I am okay with either. Just a range toy. I am far from a competitive shooter.

From what I have read, both are highly regarded and available.

I personally would pick the P210A.
The Shadow looks nice. But, I already know that DA trigger reach is a minus for me. And, my WAG is that the SA pull won't be as good as the P210's.

I bought a CZ shadow and was so impressed with the gun that I didn't hesitate to buy a CZ shadow 2 a couple of years later. I think they're great.

Also that shadow is the most accurate gun I own. I can put a whole magazine in the head A box of a USPSA target at 20 yards shooting freehand.

I had a Bersa Thunder Pro XT that wouldn't group and I couldn't tell if it was me or the gun. I brought the shadow to the range and shot both guns back to back and was able to determine that the Bersa was flawed.

Thanks, Q. Greatly value your opinion and enjoyed your post on the P210A.

Was the Shadow 2 a Custom, Dove?

I'd pick the P210 if it's just for the range. The CZ is oriented more towards competition.
Splitting hairs as either would make a great target shooter.

I know you said CZ Shadow 2, but just to throw out my 2 cents. 1. CZ Accu Shadow 2. Sig P210A 3. CZ Shadow 2. I have shot all 3 and that would be my order of preference. IMHO, the Accu Shadow is worth the extra $, I shoot that as well as any other pistol I own. My P210's are right up there, think the CZ Shadow 2 is a slight step back, for me at least. Any way you go here will make you happy, all good choices.

CZ Shadow 2. I bought one and love it. Even though I don't compete any more, the Shadow 2 is a joy to shoot. Everyone I let try it, wants to know where they can buy one.

It was just a regular Shadow 2. I don't see the need to spend more money on the custom shop trigger job. If you don't like the DA pull, it can be remedied by installing a lighter weight hammer spring.

I would go with the 210A out of those two. Not to throw a monkey wrench in the mix but I absolutely love my EAA/Tanfoglio Witness Limited Match 9mm. This gun has a sweet SAO trigger and has been 100% for thousands of rounds. It’s drilled and tapped for optics and usually costs less then the other two guns mentioned. It’s a good option.

That'd be a tough decision for me.

I like Sig, and there's no arguing with Q's results.

Then again: That Shadow 2 looks impressive and is about $300-$400 less expensive, no?

Yeah... tough one...

Another vote for the P210A as a range/target toy. My CZ SP01 Accu Shadow is fantastic but the P210A is better for me... I also like the P210A more than my CZ Tactical Sport.

Can't you add a SAO trigger in the Shadow 2? That makes the trigger argument moot. What then?

I too am trying to make this decision. I’ve handled the Shadow 2 but I’ve not found a P210A to fondle. The Shadow has an awesome trigger, but to me it’s nose heavy.

Aren't target pistols pretty typically muzzle-heavy?
