This is something that I have never even thought about before, so me ignorance level is pretty strong. There are so many choices, and I know so little. I would like to find something for back yard target shooting. Not fancy expensive competition level, just something affordable that could give me some trigger time with readily available ammunition. Pellets? BBs? I have no idea. I'm totally open minded at this time, and your suggestions are welcome. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

A company named Pyramid is a very large supplier of airguns. Study the site for a while, there are a huge number of options. CO2, pump, one stroke cocking, even larger calibers charged off scuba tanks. It's a huge world. Enjoy yourself.

I just bought this: https://www.airgundepot.com/si...-p365-bb-pistol.html It arrived today and I am very pleased with it. One CO2 cartridge lasted about 70 shots before the cartridge ran out enough to start causing malfunctions. While Airgun Depot offers a nice deal on the pistol itself, the CO2 cartridges can be found at Walmart for about 1/3 less. I bought the 40 pack of Crossman cartridges.

Interesting, they have a P320 (looks like a full size) too. May look into this for a cheap trigger time trainer. The Enemy's gate is down.

For those of you who own or have experience with both types, please tell me about BBs vs. pellets. Looking at the two websites mentioned above, I see that there are a few of these handguns that can use either (both) types, BBs and pellets. Is this a good idea, or is it "jack of all trades and master of none?" Does a handgun like this do a better job if it is designed to use only one type of projectile? I have so little knowledge about this, and so many questions. This message has been edited. Last edited by: V-Tail, הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

Why not just just an Airsoft from Sig themselves? --------------------------- “Reason, or the ratio of all we have already known, is not the same that it shall be when we know more.” — William Blake

I've got a Ruger pellet rifle with silencer I use in my backyard, plus a bullet trap. Not all that expensive and relatively accurate at backyard ranges (up to 25 yards). I also have a couple of airsoft I use to practice my draw and shoot routine. https://www.amazon.com/Ruger-T...porting-goods&sr=1-2

The P365 type that L90814 mentioned a few posts earlier is sold on the SIG website, as well as on the other two websites that have been mentioned here. Similar story for P226 and P320 types. They are on the SIG website and also on the third party reseller sites. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

I really enjoy my P320 airsoft pistols. They are official branded from Sig, fit all my holsters, similar grip. Unless you don't want to practice with what you carry or don't carry a P320 or P226. The P365 BB gun is horrible, the Sig pellet pistols have awful triggers. --------------------------- “Reason, or the ratio of all we have already known, is not the same that it shall be when we know more.” — William Blake

I would also add consider an Olympic style break barrel pistol. I have the Sig Air P210 and shoot using a small .22 bullet trap. Very accurate and great for sight picture, hold, trigger, etc. If not the P210 Air Pistol, then plenty similar. The trigger on mine is even better than my 9mm P365.

IMHO, pellets tend to be more accurate. I prefer rifled barrels, which require lead BB's if you want to use BB's. Some have magazines you can load for faster shooting of pellets. Some have a tube you can load several BB's in. My favorites are the break-open single pump models. The best of these, for me is a Webley Hurricane. Read up on cleaning and maintain, too, it's nothing like a firearm. I usually clean mine with felt pellets.

For what you describe airsoft is very good. I have BB’s, pellets, and airsoft powered by pumps, CO2, and that green gas (?) stuff. If I had to do it all over I would just stick to airsoft unless I also wanted to kill pests. Airsoft won’t do that. But airsoft with appropriate eye pro you and wife can run around and shoot each other for fun. Which actually is fun. I would stay away from Sig branded stuff unless you actually know the actual maker and they are a quality maker. These guns do have issues and the better makers have less issues and are easier to fix/get parts. For CO2 pellet guns I liked the ones can use little 8 shot speedloader cylinders to load pellets. Easy to carry a pocketful of reloads and with a new cartridge of CO2 they have some smack. Mine was a copy of my Beretta Cougar.

I bought this last fall. It is super accurate at 50 yards. A blast to shoot. Easy to get zero'ed in. https://www.amazon.com/gp/prod...02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 _________________________ Einstein defines insanity as "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"

For a break action air rifle Any thoughts on why I would buy a .22 vs .177 Or why I would want a .177 over the .22 Thanks RC

I suppose it would work in a back yard but what I've been practicing with lately in my office is a laserPetII..... laser cartridge with a small electric target that lets you know when you have hit it and it has several different timed settings. Designed pretty much for drawing from concealed and firing... My Native American Name: "Runs with Scissors"

I'm looking at this Crosman. Dual fuel, either .177 pellets or BBs. Fifty bucks at Pyramid. Does anybody here own one? Anything good or bad to say about it? https://www.crosman.com/produc...o2-air-pistol-177-bb הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

Nothing specific to that model. All I would caution you to is C02 guns are pretty loud all things considered if that matters to you. In an indoor space a C02 pistol will BARK! Just wanted to make sure you were not going in expecting a PFFFFFFT. "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

I had not thought of that, but it's not really a concern. I have no place to shoot it indoors. I was thinking back yard, and if I were to take it to the gun club, that's an outdoor facility. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים
