If you have neighbors most C02 guns are not neighbor friendly IMO. I would at the very least let them know “Hey I got a “toy” C02 BB gun it might be kinda loud blah blah if it bothers you blah blah”. Both to be polite and friendly and to keep any PD calls out of the mix. Just my 2 cents. At the muzzle some C02 air pistols are 105-110db If it matters, in my experience, most of the C02 replica guns have kinda god awful triggers as well. It all depends on your endgame. Fun, repeating plinking they are fantastic. Accurate, target shooting notsomuch. "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

If I get one, I'll try it at the gun club before any repetitive action in the back yard. Neighbor on one side doesn't matter, new guy on the other side, I have been friendly with him, I could always invite him to shoot a few pellets. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

If you already have a set of rimfire silhouettes or spinners, standard .22 pellets will knock them over with authority. Otherwise you might need to find heavy pellets for the .177 if you are going to be at much of a distance. My boys have a couple M160’s with peep sights from CMP and they will spend all day switching from lead pellets with metal targets to aluminum pellets and paper targets. With all the CO2, I’m not sure if it is any cheaper than 22’s but it is quieter though. Break action would be much cheaper. (Pyramid now sells these new manufacture as Beeman AR2078A in .177 as well as .22, but I cannot vouch for quality of the new ones.) For air pistols, I use the Crosman 2240 with heavy pellets with rimfire silhouettes or one of the Umarex Beretta 92fs pellet guns with the rotary mag and paper targets or lightweight spinners. Both are pretty accurate at 50 feet. (I also have one of the blowback Umarex Berettas, but the non-blowback version is much more accurate).

Looks to me like the cost of feeding the Crosman that I'm looking at would be around three or four cents / shot, for CO2 and pellets. That's considerably less than .22 LR is now selling for, if you can even find any to buy. The CO2 and pellets look to be readily available. BBs would be even cheaper. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

If you can master the spring piston recoil on a Beeman P1, you can transfer that kind of Zen approach to any other handgun. <---Just my less than humble opinion. Not inexpensive to start with, but as it's a spring piston pistol, the operational costs in .177 are reasonable. Value for dollar, ya know? ____________________

Ya, sorry, I had not priced 22’s since early Feb, and it seems to have gone way up even in that small time. My cost to run the Crosman 160 with pellets & CO2 from Amazon is about $0.21 per shot for heavy pellets, $0.08 per shot for light pellets (there are cheaper, but they seem to be middle of the road). In the 2240, that goes down to $0.05 to $0.18 and I can only use the lightweight .177 pellets in the Umarex guns so they are at about $0.03 per shot purchased in bulk. Back on Feb 4, I got some standard CCI paper box 22’s at my range for about $0.10 per round as comparison.

Gah! $450.00! Might be a really, really, great pellet gun, but I could buy the $50 Crosman and close to 1,000 CO2 cartridges for that money. Maybe nowhere near the quality of the Beeman, but I'm not talking about competition, I'm talking about casual shooting, so I really could not justify the Beeman bucks. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

You can have a load of fun with that 50 dollar C02 gun. That said unless repeating is a necessary pre-requisite take a hard look at the HW40(aka Beeman P3)or HW75. The Beeman P1/HW45 suggested above can be frustrating for the uninitiated. Yes the HW40 and HW75 are REAL money but they are sublime to shoot. They have fantastic triggers, are extremely accurate, built extremely well (even the all polymer HW40 feels hell for stout) are very quiet and really do provide far and away a better experience IMO. Where as the C02 gun listed is basically a toy these are real guns that just happen to use compressed air and pellets. The C02 gun will be a nice diversion to try and forget about the current unpleasantness. The two pistols I listed above may make you want to shoot them INSTEAD of bringing a .22 to the range during the good times. I only offer this advice from my own experience going down these roads many moons ago and while getting over that first price hurdle was extremely difficult, I am so very glad I did and have no regrets. Again I am NOT saying you won’t be happy with something like that C02 revolver. I am not saying a single shot air pistol is FOR YOU. I’m just saying take price out of the initial thought process and then feed it back in. You MAY ultimately be happy you did so.......or you may curse my ass to your dying day. Either or Here is a write up I did of my HW75 some time back. The HW40 is fundamentally the same gun in a Walther P99esqe shell. https://www.thehighroad.org/in...75-this-time.820885/ "Guns are tools. So for around $300 (I know real money) you can grab a P3 or HW40 and 2000 rounds of RWS Meisterkulgeln pistol and be set for quite a while. Pyramyd is where I just priced all together the HW40 is a bit cheaper at airguns of Arizona but always get your ammo at pyramyd. Always buy 4 as you will get 1 free. Or you could dip your toes into the water with a P17. It is a Chinese HW40/P3 clone then generally is well respected and for its 45 buck price tag if you don’t like it or it breaks no harm no foul. If you love it but want the real deal it was a good test pistol for cheap. So in this case for about 90 bucks shipped with the above ammo you are set for quite some time. "Guns are tools.
