^^^Nice. Did you replace the front sight yourself or did you have it done? Did you have to replace the pin or could you reuse it? I don't know how Ruger got those pins so flat/contoured with the stock sights. That sight is the one I am looking at getting for mine. One more thing if I could, what kind of wood panels are those? Very pretty.

Not to derail, but has Ruger ever said why they will not make a 6 shot .38 special SP 101?

I put a pair of his rosewood grips on mine. He does great work!

Note on the 327 Federal Mag...I have the Ruger version...love it although I am not a revolver fan in general (also have an older SP101 .357).

The .327 mag with a 2” barrel has about the same recoil as a .38 special, but also has particle blowback that peppers your face...WEAR SHOOTING GLASSES!

One more question, did the replacement sight need to be drilled for the pin? What size punch and bit did you use? thanks.

Sounds like your cylinder may be out of alignment. I'd have the gun checked out.

All this talk about the Ruger SP101 has caused me to dig out one of my .357Mag versions, load it with .38+P, and to put it into the lineup of my CCW.

My black SP-101 spends a lot of time on my hip.

Was it originally black, or have you had it treated?

Are the Pachymar grips longer than the Hogue rubber grips?

I always thought that if Thor carried a pistol instead of a hammer, it would have been an RUGER SP101.

But this is 2019, so Thor would also have to consider a KIMBER K6S with six rounds. The DAO are really nice, but the new DASA version should be outstanding.

If people would mind their own damn business this country would be better off. I owe no one an explanation or an apology for my personal opinion.

Have you looked at the Kimber K6s? I don't think anyone can consider a non-lightweight snubby defensive revolver without considering this. If nothing else, it gives you another round. And I think it's actually smaller.

I don't think so. I never cared for the Hogues on my Rutgers, but Pach Diamond grips are a perfect fit for my admittedly small hands.
