AUTiger89There's a Dan Wesson CCO in the Classifieds for a very good price. I'd buy it if I didn't already have one. But it's in .45, not 9mm.
The pattern on the front strap is not as aggressive as normal 1911 checkering and feels fantastic. I wish it were available on more 1911s.

pedropcolaSo I’ve had the Garrison and Emissary for awhile now. I bought the Garrison “blue label” for $703 and the Emissary was on sale for $799. It’s not even close. The Emissary is a better gun across the board if you can live with the bushingless design. They are both great guns but the f&f on the Garrison is very rudimentary compared to the Emissary.
My point? Get the Emissary while it is on sale because it is a steal at 8 bones.

WeshoweGents,
I have tried the 1911 in 9mm and the 2011 double stacked version and found them lacking. I MUCH PREFER a good 1911 in .38 Super. More power and it shoots like a nine. It's the way to go, IMHO.

FredwardI went ahead and got the Colt Combat Commander. The order came in today. Fit and finish are excellent, although the bluing is not as good as the 70's Colts. It was encouraging to see that I remembered how to field strip it after 25 years or so. Of course, like many modern guns, it came with only one mag, but I ordered half a dozen Mac-Gars when I ordered the gun, should be in soon. If I decide to carry it (big if,) I'll pick up some Wilson Combats. On another note, I finally got around to firing that mid-70's Ruger Security Six I bought last year. It's as fun as I remember, I hadn't shot one since I was 20. I wasn't very accurate with it, I'm going to look for something other than the old black sights. Ah, good times.
