My inclination is for a Colt LW. Any other options I should consider?

I got a Tisas last year and only had one problem with the extractor which I believe has been fixed.

I have a Springfield Ronin 4.25” in 9mm. It’s got the lightweight frame and it’s a tackdriver.

Whatever brand you get, buy a few Wilson Combat mags

I do prefer Tripp Cobra mags as they are a solid one piece tube compared to the welded Wilson Combat mags.

And what ever Dan Wesson you pick, you'll be getting all tool steel parts and an almost Semi Custom fit and finish for a production line price, especially used.

The only reason I would look at Springfield or Kimber models is if you want to mount an optic. Dan Wesson/CZ optic cuts are few, far between, and better done with the aftermarket.

if you go aluminum, look for a model with a fully ramped barrel IMO

Otherwise, DW, Ed Brown if you can swing it, Colt if you can’t.

I've been happy with my Springfield EMP4. If I was going to carry a gun with a manual safety, that would be the one.

I’ve got a Springfield Ronin 4.25” 9mm and it’s been an outstanding gun. I would not hesitate to buy another. It’s been boringly reliable and very accurate. I run Wilson mags generally but the factory mag has been just as good as the Wilson’s with a variety of ammo.

Really liking my DW TCP in a .45. They do make a 9mm version.

I bought a Dan Wesson Guardian 9mm and have enjoyed shooting it. Never any issues with it. Have a ton of different brands and style mags and its never been picky with mags or ammo.

For a lower priced 9mm 1911 I would probably go with the Ruger SR1911. I followed them closely when others here posted about them and they seemed to be a good bang for the buck. Some did have minor issues with the sights but Ruger takes care of its customers.

Springfield Garrison then send it to SACS for some custom work.

For ME:
DA/SA=Sig 9mm or HK P30 LEM 9
Striker fired= Glock 9mm
If it's a .45= 1911
Suppressed= HK in .45
I like anything in 10mm

Yes….if your budget will allow, take a hard look at the Dan Wesson offerings. You can’t really go wrong.

Colt apparently uses a few MIM parts. DW does not. This may or may not be a factor for you, depending.
