Short answer is no

My guess is someone not familiar with the pistol described it

They are marked as 9mm kurz
or in English, "9mm short" ie .380

.380 ACP, ,32 ACP, 9x18mm Police

Those are the three chamberings of the P230. As far as I know, the P232 was chambered in .380 ACP only.

It's a small, blowback pistol. 9x19mm, with rare exception, will always be chambered in locked breech pistols.

Seems like I have a blue book of guns that actually list that there were some in 9mm luger... but that might have been a misprint. what I have for years been hoping is that they did a limited run for some police dept. in some country and that one will show up one day.

It's almost certainly an error. As "gun guys", its easy to get lost on the fact that not everyone - even some who work in the trade - are not as well versed in firearms nomenclature. For the novice or uninformed, the myriad of caliber designations must be overwhelming.

That's it. Period.

The .22LR chambering doesn't even count. It's a toy.

I have a 232 in 32ACP, it's unfired and the only one I've ever seen. Sig customer service says it doesn't exist.

The P232 is one of the pistols I used to see often, liked how it felt, but just didn't see the use for a PPK style .380 blowback pistol when locked breech .380's are smaller and softer shooting.

But they are works of mechanical art, and probably the nicest looking semi-auto ever made.

I went back to the ad with the intent to question the poster but the ad had been deleted.
I guess somebody else questioned it also.

I agree with Lefty. I pocket carry a LCP Custom but waist or sling pouch carry a 232 because I shoot it well and I just like the way it fits my hand. Is it practical with pistol choices today, absolutely not. I've been collecting 230 and 232's for some years now and have a dozen or so and I really can't explain the fondness that makes any good sense.

I've said it in other post that I think the P230 & P232s are the best looking semi-auto pistols ever made. they are all curves... smooth and just fit my hand perfectly....

I knew they did exist but thanks for sharing the pics. Numrich had NOS P232 barrels awhile back so I snagged one and had it swapped in by Josh at AAGW. He had to mill the extractor slot to fit the P230 SL I sent him but it runs flawlessly and is a nice companion to my P230 Japanese contract 7,65B.

A couple years ago some vendor had a bunch of 230 32 ACP Japanese units and I missed out and didn't buy one. If I come by a barrel I'll have Josh fit one...good idea.

I like that, thanks for sharing the pics! Of all the sub-9mm centerfire calibers, .32 ACP is my favorite. I figure if I'm going to use a small bullet, I want penetration and rapid follow-up shots. .380 tends to fail at both, as it's wider cross section and lower velocity limits penetration, and the recoil can be pretty harsh in the tiny blowback packages it tends to be offered in. .25 ACP is drastically underpowered, and IMO I'd rather take my chances with high-quality rimfire ammo as it's cheaper, easier to source, and will likely perform better. .32 ACP kinda hits the sweet spot, as it can penetrate sufficiently especially with FMJ ammo, yet recoil is light enough that you can dump a mag very quickly with reasonable accuracy. I have a Beretta 81 and a KelTec P32...would love to score a P232 and a CZ83 in .32 if I could find affordable examples.

I agree completely. I've tried to find a shooter 32 in a Sig or CZ with no luck so far. I love my 81 too, and the Tomcat is reliable but a mini boat anchor unfortunately. Glad you like the pics of the 232, I'm also embarrassed to tell anyone what I had to pay for the beauty.....I think I was deep into a bottle of Italian wine that night.

Most say 9 kurz on the slide, which is 380ACP.

So, there's unfortunately some uneducated shops listing them as 9mm pistols.
Ran into this a couple times...

Have shot the 230 and really like it and the way it looks. One thing to watch - your grip needs to be BELOW the slide.

Pretty she is but she will bite on the first shot.

Genorogers, I notice the "AA" date code on your P232 means it was made in the year 2000.

I got a P230 back when they first came out in the '80's. They were advertised in .22LR but I was never able to find one. Has anybody actually seen a P230 in .22LR?

A P232 in 9mm Parabellum would end up looking like a Hi-Point with a huge slide.
