My LGS got one in yesterday it sold for under $1500.
I still say that 3” is too short for the Python. Looks tail heavy to me.

4.25” or 6” is where it is at. I am holding out for a blued model.

Why did Colt change the dimension of the holes in the vent rib? that looks cheap to me, and it makes no sense....

It seems like the harsh muzzle blast and reduced energy on target would limit its appeal. My 3" S&W Model 60 delivers the same round in a much more convenient package.
Has anyone handled the new Colt Cobra Target model with the Altamont grips? I'm wondering if it's a .357 Diamondback?

Hey baby, I got a 3" Python!

Doesn't really work...

Hey baby, I got a 6" Anaconda!

A little better, but still...

It would look more balanced as a round butt, I think.

Well, I managed to snag one at retail today!

It's handles WAY better than you think it would.

I have no regrets with this purchase.

Looks great Mars, though I agree with some that it looks a bit tail heavy.

Nice score, Mars! I'm a sucker for a short-barreled revolver...I find 3" to be a great balance of carryability/concealability in a belt gun (and you can sit down without it digging into the seat!), while still retaining enough sight radius to wring some accuracy out of it. I've never had the chance to shoot a Python, but if they shoot half as good as they look I'd say you found a keeper!

I agree. The original version shipped with small grips.

It's not tail heavy whatsoever.

In fact, it balances better than the 4.25".

The photos just make it look funny with the full size grips. I hope someone starts making aftermarket boot grips for them.

I handled the new King Cobra and I was not impressed in the least bit. The fitting is just as poor as the cobra and it's full of MIM parts.

The Python series is high quality.

We got our first one in yesterday. In my opinion it balances very well and it’s size is perfect if you choose to carry a revolver.

My only complaint is the trigger. It stacks very heavily just before it finally breaks. It almost feels as if it will never break and then it finally does. The trigger certainly isn’t anything like the original Pythons.

Good to know. Some different grups would probably help with the optical imbalance.

I'll get pix when I get some daylight.

I have to install a new refrigerator this weekend, so it might not be until Sunday,

It is quite the handsome revolver in person.
