Mine works great. I have had several over the years.

Mine is actually on a p226 frame. Obviously I use p226 mags. Other than that, it is fine. It does get the frame a bit dirty. So if you have a spare p220 frame use it on that.

I got one a few years ago. Took some tweaking to work right. I had to reshape the head of the extractor and clip 2 coils off the extractor spring.

Also it has a too deep a ramp cut that leaves the chamber too open and not supporting the case. Every empty brass is bulged into the ramp recess. None have blown up yet. Sig refused to do anything about it. One strike against sig.

I picked up a conversion kit a couple of years ago and put it on one of my old W.German P220s. Never had a problem of any sort and it shoots as accurately as my CZ Kadet .22.

that is interesting. I have not had any signs of a bulged case. I did have to file the firing pin stop. I attributed that to the difference between a p220 and p226. I don't have a p220 anymore to test that theory.

my biggest issue was actually with p226 mags. I had to do a bit of trimming with a file on the mags to get them to seat fully in any of my p226's. Prior to this conversion, I have had a p220, p228/229, p226 i have never had to tune up any of those mags.

as far as accuracy i think it is pretty good. the biggest limitiation is the da/sa trigger pull of my p226.

Wow!

I never would have thought the 220 .22 upper would work on the 226!

Is your 226 one of the 'newer' ones or an older one? I heard something about differences in frames from ones before something like 2009 or so.

I just picked up my 226 today, but haven't taken it home.

I have a 220 .22 kit- it would be great if it was interchangeable!

PM me if you want with any details that might be helpful.

just to be clear the top end is interchangeable, you need the correct mags.

Mine works great on my 220 SAO. Had it since I got the gun years ago and it sees way more action than the .45 top end.

No issues at all other than the usual rimfire autoloader issues, and even those are pretty minimal.

Runs fine suppressed, too.

You will need p226 mags, you may have to file the too of the p226 mags a smidge. Usually the top third, as i tried to show in my photos. My previous p220 kit worked fine on my 228, and 226. Though they were older model guns. This version i had to pop out the firing pin Stop and file it down a bit. It was significantly thicker than stock p226. It was a minor trim. It works flawlessly now.

Out of all the 22lr conversions i have had.
Gsg, sig 1911, marvel 1,marvel2, tac sol 1911. The sig is the most reliable and shooter friendly. P226 and p220 mags are getting difficult to find now. I bought the last six midway had instock for 20 bucks each.
